I don't know why people think that running low on fuel will 'suck in all the crap from the bottom of the tank'. The fuel is constantly pulled from the bottom of the tank anyway?

If anything the fuel filter will just collect any floating debris won't it? at which point a flag will be raised in the ECU memory and your dealer should notice this and advise at next service?

The only time mine read -- was when I drove home from the dealers, the tight swines left a sniff of petrol in, luckily I made it to the nearest petrol station 5~ miles to quench her thirst :p

Um.. No :p

Probably best not to try that unless you want to kill it :D

That's a good idea - if you put the climate control at 32 and leave it on for ages will it warm up enough to be able to use it like a large oven?

I bet you've already tested that ;)
I've thought of some more:

1. How fast do you have to hit the kerb sideways to:
--a) Bend a suspension component
--b) Flip the car

2. What effect does using 1 spacesaver tyre on the left, rear wheel have on the 0-60 and 0-100 MPH times?

3. What effect does using 1 in 10 parts diesel as a fuel have on the 50-100 MPH in 4th gear time?

4. What effect does mounting my spoiler on the roofline rather than the boot have on:
--a) Top speed
--b) Cornering G at 100 MPH?

5. Does the removal of the back seats have a significant effect on fuel consumption?

I vote for this one!

Exactly. It's an myth.

How about a spacesaver on the rear on one side and on the front on the other, what does that do for handling?
I'm going to have to try this out, and I even know where I'm going to do it :D

Watch this space... for a week or two

The spacesaver effect on 0-60 and 0-100 will get a try, too :p

EDIT: Does anyone want to let me borrow their spacesaver for a bit? I can trade a can of tyre weld for the meantime!

I reckon we should all try this, and have a competition, climate control or not. Highest and lowest interior temp after, say, 10 minutes? :D
Agreed. We need to agree on a standard cheap termometer from Tesco or something, and the rule is you must stay in the car for all 10 minutes. The car must be at normal operating temperature at the start.

So, who's going first? I can sit in heat for any amount of time *folds arms aggressively*
