Valentines Day (Opinions Welcome)

A complete and utter waste of time and money. Have a look at just how many flowers you could by for the cost of a dozen valentine roses at any other time of year. Do that instead.

Oh god. Another year of being single gone already? I'll probably just treat myself to a box of chocolates, some sexy underwear, and a good fap.

OH MY GOD LOL!!!

Almost just spat my coffee all over my monitor :p Classic!

yeah, single for me too! Although there is someone this year, however it's still a month away, so things could change really :(

I thought that it would take merely 5 posts for there to be an over the top flame on Valentine's day. Sadly it took 9. An insult to buy someone a gift on Valentine's day? Steady on there.

Valentine's day is to be taken highly tongue in cheek. It certainly isn't a day which should be taken particuarly seriously. But then, it is a wonderfully silly excuse to make an effort to do something nice with your partner, which can be as commercial or uncommercial as you would like.

Why not get a nice bottle of wine in, some candles and romance yourself properly. It's only once a year after all. ;)

I'm not particularly fussed about Valentines Day, I don't think you should restrict yourself to only one day of the year to be romantic but if nothing else it serves as a reminder that you sometimes need to make an effort for your partner.

I like Valentines Day, the other half isn't so keen. We normally go out for dinner but don't do anything big present wise. I never expect flowers because he's never bought me flowers in the 3 years we have been together.

That's pretty lousey ;)

Moderately on topic, I get irritated by people who say 'I don't like flowers (to give or receive), because flowers die and it represents love will end'.

They are flowers. They look nice. Enjoy them then throw them away. End.

That is why he doesn't buy them, he doesn't see the point. He'd rather buy something that will last. It's quite sweet but I do like flowers. :(

Yeah. I feel the same way about people who don't like getting or giving frozen chickens as gifts.
