So they sell him for 8million then buy him back for 15m a year later? ;) May be theres some sort of contract information I don't know about.

Just last week tevez was saying he wants to stay at UTD now with his contract thing not sorted he comes out with this, anything to hurry up UTD hey :P

There have been reports "stating" he wants £120,000/week or something - so I think there is also a little backlash from that also

He didn't have the money at Portsmouth for him.

Redknapp has total control over signings. He wouldn't have it any other way.

In the present, Bent is injured and I am still not convinced Pavvy can cut it week in week out, he has 1 good game in 4.

Also, I still dont feel safe knowing Utd can recall Campbell at any time.

Finally, Defoe knows where the goal is better than those we currently have.
 
I'd agree that he's no worse than our current strikers but I want to see Spurs go forward as a club. Just like Darren Bent, I don't think he's got enough to his game to take the next step up.

If we want to finish mid-table then he's a perfectly acceptable striker. However, what happens next season when we want to push for top 6? I don't think he's consistent enough and he adds nothing to the team apart from the odd goal - just like Bent.

Maybe I've been spoilt by watching Keane and Berbatov play together though. :p
 
Now we have Defoe we can offload Bent. We can still get decent money for him as you don't become crap overnight, I think he'd suit Everton or similar. He's just wilted under the pressure of his price tag at WHL and hasn't performed.

Also we're back to the Bent/Defoe can't play together thing...

Also Defoe now means we can stop being mugs and blooding Campbell for Utd, time to send him back. He isn't worth what they'd want for him, which is about £8m? No way.

FYI - you have Campbell until the end of the season (as he is cup tied now)

For 3 or 4 million I'd be happy to take Bent from Spurs to Everton.
