Nice link mate, thanks.

good offer that. comes with a free stir fry pan too

I'd recommend Circulon pans as well, my parents have had a set for over 15 years now and they're still in great condition and as non stick as they ever were. I've also got a set myself, and although you don't put them in the dish washer they are so easy to clean it doesn't really matter.

Le creuset is just poncy **** they sell in fancy kitchenware shops for the 'trendy' kitchen. There is a reason you never see any chefs on TV using them. They are ****e.

Kitchen Aid :)

After a quick trip to the kitchen it turns out i ahve one of these, its basically the best pan ever!

I got one for christmas 2007 :D (what every 18 year old student wants really) dont really know how much it was, but its heavy! (made the walk from to teh airport bad and the walk from the bus stop to halls even worse)

Either way get that, not IKEA (broken a few by dropping and watched an old flat mate burn a hole in hers....)

Just got this Circulon chef's pan for Christmas, it's absolutely fantastic.

The heat distribution, clean up and life is no where near as good as an good meyer set of pans. As I said there is a reason you never see them used in a kitchen.

They are a trend item. They look nice in a colour co-ordinated kitchen to match your nice denby set.

Not one of the cooking magazine's or books I've ever read will recommend them as a pan.

don't get non-stick - they are rubbish. It's worth having a non-stick frying pan around but that's about it. I have stellar pans which I've had for years and they get a lot of use and look new. Worth checking tk-maxx for kitchenware, I've had stellar pans and knives from their at very good prices (having bought them full price elsewhere:mad:)

Quality non stick if looked after properly (i.e no metal utensils or dishwashers) are fantastic.

I've had the Analon set you linked to for 5 years now (poss more), still look and perform like brand new. Just look after them and they'll do you very well indeed :)

Ah got given a LeCruset griddle pan, large stovetop/ oven pan with lid, and oven dish (kind of thing for cassarole/ lasagne) for Christmas. Are they really that poor?

What you have been given are great. Nothing beats heavy cast iron for griddle / stewpot / bake dishes IMO.

I wouldn't want a full set of pans in le cruset (altho peeps with agers swear by them), but they are unbeatable for griddling, making stews (on hob then straight into oven) etc etc. I use my griddle and stewpot frequently, and wouldn't change them for anything :)

No they're not that poor, they're just not as good as some others that are available.

edit** What he said above.

Exactly people saying non stick is rubbish, well it is if you buy a set for £49.99 from argos or use a fork to stir with as my old man did in one of my pans one christmas :D

They are ok, see how you get on with them. If you find your not getting results you like try another pan. You can always get decent money second hand selling on Le Cruset stuff people will always buy it. The oven dish's etc are not too bad it's the pans I'm really not fond of.

no they're good, I have a big stove top one which can be banged in the oven and it's great for that, just don't drop it or you will make a sink hole consuming your entire kitchen
