Yeah sorry lsg1r , I'm bad for scanning pages these days.

I'm sure Ive seen a few early episodes of Eureka Seven, I might give it another look though. I'm sure the main guy was bonding with the Mech around then or something.

Eureka Seven along with Full Metal Panic I've heard of before, although I always think of Full Metal Alchemist when someone mentions FMP. Rahxephon is a total mystery to me, so could be interesting.

Cheers

Eureka Seven, truly epic story imo.

RahXephon is like the tame version of evangelion, but still very very strange.

Speaking of Evangelion, finally picked up EoE..i think i forgot how screwed up that film is lol. The audio commentry made me laugh though when Amanda Winn Lee pointed out an added line during some Nerv guys encounter with a flamethrower.

Arghhhh
Hit him again!
Arghhhh

easily amused

not seen shana yet (on my to watch list though) but I'll agree in the characters could have been older, especially during the changing of clothes (didn't really feel right if you get my meaning). Luckily StrikerS sorts that aspect out :)

See I told you it was good :p

Yes I know what you mean ... as a transformation sequence it was just wrong but at least it only happened a handful of times ... StrikerS I have seen, (Yay for watching things out of sequence!), and that is definitely an improvement in that area ;)

I was pleasantly surprised with Rozen Maiden. I was really unsure what to expect and now having seen both series (and the OVA) and read the manga I think that it is quite good ... it just doesn't really sound that good if youu have to explain the premis to someone.

Ok, so I watched disk 6 of When They Cry last night .... phew!, I'm glad that's done .... that was some really screwed up ****!

Then watched disk 3 of Code Geass, (good and played back with no issues), and disk 2 of Little Snow Fairy Sugar, (cuteness overload to counteract When They Cry).

edit: ... and Code Geass disk 4 and Clannad After Story disk 2 this evening (Friday)

I finished Witchblade off last night, which was pretty good if pretty much fluff (nothing really deep or serious), and left it open for another series (probably with a different wielder).

I'm going to watch Black Lagoon Second Barrage 3 tonight, then move onto either niea or nana.

Just finished watching GitS 2.0 ... not Innocence but the updated version of the first film which was released recently.

I'd read complaints about how the new elements didn't work very well with the old but I though other than one sequence it fitted pretty well. Unfortunately the sequence which didn't fit well as the Major's dive right at the beginning of the film where for some reason they had re-rendered it all in 3D.

But other than that it was good, (and the Region A (JP) regular edition BR release has an English sub track. :))

Well end of episode 2 and Yumi has been told/asked to find a petite soeur
Looks like next ep we will find out who she chooses as she is having an `audition` :)
My money is on her choosing both :D

:)

although I'm not sure you are right and I wasn't overly happy with the pacing of the episode, compared say with the latest episode of Clannad After Story which was one of the best I have seen from any series recently. Anyway roll on the end of March when the first LE DVD of Maria-sama series 4 is out in Japan.

Btw Ef - A Tale of Melodies looks really nice on Blu-Ray ... pity the story is a bit meh.

I see ADV have announced that they will be releasing Clannad in two sub-only half season sets instead of the singles with dub as well as previously announced.

A pity as it deserves the same treatment as Kanon had but at least we'll get half the series in March instead of the first single in April.

I suspect I may be pre-ordering this at TRSI :)

I still need/want to get Kannon and Air, but i'm waiting for a good price set from funi now I guess.

I'm surprised that Funimation haven't solicited a thinpak series set for Kanon yet, I'd have thought that they would have wanted to get it out reasonably quickly ... but I expect it'll come out before the summer.

Air ... could be interesting as the boxset you tend to see talked about for it are the Blu-ray one that has been released in JP.

In my opinion Clannad > Kanon > Air purely in terms of pacing and completeness of the story, (can't really go into more detail than that without including to many spoilers)

.... well it looks like you'd have lost it then.

Argh ... March is looking an expensive month with release dates slippage and Clannad now being released then instead starting as singles in April. I think on top of the R1 releases there will also be a Clannad AS disk on R2(J) as well as Marimite S4 starting to be released (along with some sort of boxset there is very few details on at the moment). Does mean that Jan and Feb are light months for me though.

I've been continuing watching Sugar (one more disk and the special left to go tonight) and Shana (two more disks to go). Did pick up Gunbuster and Diebuster reduced on Bluray yesterday to watch at some point.

I suspect we have another two episodes before it's all sorted out ;)

Finished watching Sugar earlier .... cor that last disk was heavy going, sad ... ok not Kanon/She/Fireflies sad ... but sad none the less. OVA will have the wait until tomorrow.

BTW be careful out there ... would appear the world of Kyoto Animation you can get pregnant by just holding hands in bed :D

Well Funimation have solicited Air (both series and movie) for release in April now ... which means that there is a good chance for a Kanon Pt1 (as it's a ~25 episode series it'll be a two parter) in say June.

Personally I wouldn't bother with the Air movie as it doesn't really give you anything over the series.

(my bank balance really likes all these re-releases of things I've already got ... thats unless they bring them out on Bluray of course like has been done for Air in Japan)

Well Clannad After Story and Maria-sama season 4 both seem to be progressing nicely, (although I am have been away at my parents so was asked why I was laughing loudly at the latest episode of the latter ... had to say that it would take to long to explain :)).

Downside of being away is that I haven't had a chance to watch my copy of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A which came last week yet ... and hopefully **** the Natural Pt1 will come this week so I may end up with quite a bit to watch next weekend ;)

Btw, has anyone watched the first three episodes of Time of Eve? It's available, legitimently, via CrunchyRoll. Thought it was quite good and very nicely animated. Interesting story too although not a lot of it. Seems that CrunchyRoll is going more legit now and the anime's official site lists there as an official source.

I do wish you'd have used the japanese name (eve no jikan) as I looked at it and was like I'm sure I've seen something like this but it wasn't called that. After a quick google check for the real name  - I watched the first one or 2 episodes, didn't think it was too bad but stopped watching it as I think the others weren't out at the time.

Crunchyroll is quite a useful site in some cases, found blassreiter (not a bad overall story) and kurogane no linebarrels (linebarrels of iron) which I'm hoping is going to get better as I like the mech designs (they're slightly fresher than gundam designs for example). Just don't watch Kotetsushin Jeeg as that is pretty bad :)

I've been enjoying an older anime, shingu, which is actually pretty good and has a plot that I personally haven't really seen explored too much in the anime I've seen - big strong power (linked to humans), aliens invading while another group of aliens help the one town on earth that knows of aliens save earth, also coming of age aspect too. :)

As to the earlier mentioned anime for winter - I think rideback may be one of them surprise anime gems that don't look like much but turns out to be really good. Asu no Yoichi and akikan are both as daft (but I like them like this) as I thought they would be too and kurokami seems kind of shana meets Shikabane Hime Aka (or karas) :)
