Oh, you are the resident system builder I take it. Fair enough then haha. I have to say that prices for the GTX280 are very tempting right now. I think I am set on one of the 55nm cards though.

Received my Leadtek GTX280 today, upgrading from a 8800GTX. Just installed and getting 15,747 on 3DMark06 with a Q6600 @ 3.2Ghz - does that sound about right?

Not quite but I get fair exposure to the hardware.

Just had a L4D game with the guys from work and I can report that my stupidly high 1024 x 768 framerates are now even higher. :D

You're crazy man, so your 8800 was never put to the test either? I don't think I could get used to gaming at 1024 now, it's been too long, we went our separate ways.

Just recieve my Gainward280GTX today - computer spec is pretty much the same as yours so I'll run it in the morning and let you know :)

That's sort of what is holding me back as I use a HP L2045W 20" screen at 1650 * 1050. If I can sell my 1.5 month old 9800GT for close to what I got for it then fair enough :)
