You'll get higher fps (if you arn't cpu limited), but if games will run at 60fps+ with the 4870 then you won't be able to notice the difference.

You'd probably be able to notice the difference at that res in farcry 2 and crysis/warhead and the like, but only because they are so slow to begin with.

I think the 285's are due next week. The 55nm GTX260 is due tomorrow i think

If you have an nForce/x58 you're better off getting two of these instead of a GTX 295 as its faster and the same price now :cool:

I think the quality check must be them making sure the card has no dust on it and the cooler is still attached.

Anything much more than that I think they gloss over.

Ideally you should Get a Gtx 295, this Car was released for people like you whi held out from other cards.

You will be amazed with the Gtx295 setup from an 8800Gtx!

What do you guys think (or have read) about micro stutter with the 295? i have 2 G80 640mb atm so i would love to get a 295 when the price comes down to 400, but reports of micro stutter is putting me off( on other dual gpu boards in the past at least)
