Protest march against Israeli terrorism

I admire your optimism, but no, this march won't make a bit of difference. Apart from increased policing costs and probably more insurance claims when it turns violent.

And a great opportunity for the radicals to evangelise.

760 dead, 3000 injured. Food running out, no electricity for one million people, no water for 750,000. The town of Rafah raised to the ground. You can make a difference. Join the demonstration and add your voice to the millions around the world who say this barbarism must stop.
You can make a difference. This barbarism must stop. Join the demonstration.

Dont worry Israel, brought a crap load of all that into Gaza today with trucks:)

Taking either side in this conflict is futile. Both are as bad as each other; neither will learn or listen to international pressure, so as far as I'm concerned, they can get on with killing each other. It's pathetic.

This ^

The violence will only stop when they get bored of blowing each other up.

You can make a difference.

Do you actually beleive this? I mean, seriously? Surely nobody can be that deluded?

They've ignored the international community, yet you think Israel will go 'Hang on, a bunch of lentalists are walking around London ranting, lets stop now lads'?

Wouldn't it be funny if you were all arrested for supporting Hamas?

I wouldn't have directly compared it with 9/11 but can see where he is coming from.

As I understand it:

A terrorist organisation (in this case one democratically voted into power) attacks a nation, killing innocents.

The government of the nation being attacked responds with force. Too much force in my opinion, but in the situation Israel finds itself in, I have no surprise at all. Nor should Hamas.

Hamas are hiding behind the people they are supposed to be responsible for. Firing rockets from schools in the hope that Israel decides then not to retaliate. If (when?) they do retaliate they get lambasted worldwide for it.

What exactly does the international community expect Israel to do? Sit around and let their people be attacked?

I have no sympathy for Hamas or the Israeli government. They have brought this on themselves. I have much sympathy for the people on both sides caught up in the mess.

A little over simplistic - there's so much more to it than that I've stated my experiences and from my knowledge in the multiple threads we've had on the subject, I'm afraid that I will never and cannot accept that Israel is in any way innocent or victimless, agreed that Hamas don't help themselves, but when a nation is being slowly choked to death the survival instinct kicks into play. And the nation of Palestine which is slowly being destroyed to extinction owing to Israel taking over more and more land and actually oppressing the Palestinians. Israel has a LOT to answer for, they are not and will never be the victims in this no matter what people say.

Israel opened the border to allow delivery of humanitarian supples in November and December 2008.

Two days ago she announced the arrival of another shipment:

The United Nations has welcomed Israel's decision to open a humanitarian corridor into the Gaza Strip. While Israel will press ahead with its incursion, it has agreed to suspend attacks in specified parts of Gaza to allow people to stock up on essential goods.

Israel says plenty of medicines and foodstuffs have made it into Gaza, but the fighting has hampered distribution efforts. Andrew Whitley from the UN Relief and Works Agency says he welcomes any move that helps people to get food.

"It's a terrible situation in which people are stuck inside their homes unable to be able to even go to food distribution centres to pick it up," he said. They are not able to cook because there's no cooking gas, there's no electricity, there's no fuel - it's a really bad situation that they're in. But as far as the corridor is concerned, it is a step forward and it's one which we welcome, and we need to discuss the details of how it's going to work."

Meanwhile, Israeli ground troops withdrew from the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Yunis after operating there for a day, witnesses said.

"Nation of Palestine"? There is nation of Palestine.

Let's see what Mr Galloway thinks.

I hate to say it but for once i agree with most of what hes saying. The media ARE totally biased here and they do refuse to believe that people see Israel as just as much terrorists as Hezbolla and Hamas.

Israel are an invading army who illegally occupy part of lebanon, this is not up for discussion its a simple fact. The media refuse to concede even on this point, what hope is there to resolve this if goverments and the media wont even admit basic FACTS.
