Did I get ripped off by skate shop?

They should give you £20 back.

I used to work in high street fashion that offered various "2 fors" and if a customer returned an item they got a return for the "2 for" value and not the RRP (i.w 2 x £6 T shirts for £10, a refund / exchange on 1 would warrent a £5 return not £6).

However this could change from firm to firm

thats barmy. im going to try that next time i buy two 360 games for £40 or something:eek:

Each is itemised at £20

I'll just let it go but I feel I have now bought 1 sweater at £25 but £13.50 postage! That's probably what's buggin me most

Why should they refund you postage for items that have already been sent, just because you decided that you didn't like them? It's pretty much standard for any online company to only offer a refund on postage if the items are faulty.

If you returned the sweater due to a fault/defect then you may have a case for refund or replacement at thier discretion, if the clothing was not faulty then as above, tough titties!... you could always 'bay it.

You ended up with one t-shirt....which has cost you £25...that is the correct price for 1. As above you want a discount but you are not buying 2...lol.

Next you gonna buy one get one free. And send the one you paid for back and want a refund then keep the free one cos its free...:D:D:D:D:D

How about find a buy-one-get-one-free offer somewhere and just return the one you paid for but keep the free one?

I didn't suggest anywhere I wanted or would expect a refund for postage - don't know how you inferred that - merely commenting on how expensive the order has turned out to be. Many online stores include a pre-paid returns label, even if it is second class post.

They were both the same price individually £25 and £20 when bought together. It would be unreasonable to expect a £25 refund.

why is that? they dont have to produce a reciept but they have to honour the price printed on one if they do regardless of the offer?

On the receipt the shop is valuing the product at £20. If you return it, should you not get the value of the product back?

Then you should get 50% refund.

Could be wrong, I'm no law student.

They dont even have to produce a reciept so im not sure what weight that holds. you could argue it wasnt an offer at all if it doesnt say so on the reciept and maybe get away with it if it went to small claims but honestly....thats a lot of hassle for £5.

in our store for BOGOF you would have to return both items and pay for the one you wanted again.

I can accept that had it been flagged on their site.

From the site:

Returns:
We will refund you, or replace any item returned to us within 30 days of receipt, in new condition, unused and in their original packaging. Postage to cover the cost of returning goods, for exchange or refund, is the responsibility of the customer. We can arrange a collection on your behalf for a small fee. Please clearly label all returns to ‘....Returns Department’. You should also remember to include your name, address, daytime telephone number and a covering letter explaining why you are returning it AND what you would like us to do; refund or exchange? With any returns (we reserve the right not to refund any item returned not in new condition or after the 30 day period)

My point that was only for Buy one get one free (only because of the various prices i.e tshirt £10 and jumper £15)

2 for offers were different as the items were of exact value.

Just rember these offers only exist because the companies either wanna shift the stock or can afford the markdown to promote additional sales.

I've shopped there before but would think twice about it in future. Customer service isn't impressive, postage costs are expensive, lots of competitors with offers...Lesson learned.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

This is not a thread-worthy retailer gripe, and you should not expect anything other than what they have offered.

But please do let me know if you ever start a business, so I can visit you and thoroughly abuse any offers you have.

It was to discuss the nature of the offer but hey thanks for your views - humorous and perceptive.
