Well, I'm new to London (new to the UK for that matter), recently moved from Australia. Love the weather here, its great ;)

Just wondering what websites you all use for updates on what is happening in London, in terms of nightclubs, live music, other events etc ?

I want to experience as much as possible while I'm here, its such an awesome city. I don't want to miss anything, so want to sign up to newsletters, websites, whatever there is, so I know what's happening.

Cheers

Yur not normal.. Why the hell would you move from there to here, you get royally shafted by the govt in anyway actually possible, its crap to finsd a job, were in a crappy recession and no matter what job you do you wont see much of it. London is rammed with gun crime and football rioting.

Not only that, you see the VAT in this country? You seen the amount of immigrants we have?

Your mad dude, as soon as i can, im moving to Australia..

Welcome to london! We're not all negative here (^) - I really like living in london and the uk. Don't know if this is the best place to ask about nightlife though! I can't help much as I only go to student nights but there's always lots going on.

Shunt in london bridge station is quite interesting.

Thankyou for the advice. I'm not the least bit concerned about any of the points you raised about moving from "there to here", and I whole-heartedly disagree with your statement about my normalcy :D

If you could kindly provide some advice relating to the questions posed in my original post, that would be greatly appreciated :)

You'll fit in well here LOL. Welcome ;)

You're mad!!! I want to go to Aussie!

What are your interest/hobbies?

I'm sure if we had a better idea of what you're into we could give much better advice :)

Thanks :) Good to know that there are some optimistic people here. Thanks for your help, I'll have a look at Shunt :) I love student nights, as they = cheap drinks :p

Which part of Aus you from?

I am half tempted to move there lol Do you mind if i ask why you move over to the UK ?

I'm from Brisbane, which is in the state of Queensland, nicknamed the Sunshine State, for good reason - it's bloody hot. It's not so much the heat, but the humidity. Be prepared to walk out the door at 7am, and be sweating. Beautiful beaches though. I love Brisbane, and it's will always be home :)

I moved over here to experience Europe. Believe it or not, London is such a great city, even if the weather/government/whatever-other-excuse-you-can-come-up-with means it's not an enjoyable place to live. There is a lot more happening in London than any city in Australia, IMHO. I plan to live here and work for at least 2 years, travel Europe and enjoy the lifestyle. In Austalia, overseas travel options are extremely limited, due to the fact we are one big island, isolated from a lot of things. But being based in the UK means travel to Europe is a stone's throw away - just the way I like it :) And I firmly believe the working opportunities are just as good here as in Australia. I would strongly recommend people moving there to make sure that opportunities are available before taking the plunge. Australia has not been immune to the economic crisis. Anyone that thinks that will be sadly mistaken.

Thankyou :) It's great to be here!
