Think this is going to be a big let down tbh.
I cant see simbin having PC levels of sim on a console, its just not going to happen because of the target audience. If you want all the sims aspects go for PC. Graphically and the sense of speed look very average which doesnt help excite people neither.
Nor do you know of any FM2 3way screen players from your crowd?
All the previews seem to be indicating Race Pro is a pretty decent simulation, unless I've been reading the wrong previews?
Nothing is going to surpass GT5 graphically, so if graphics are your thing, I think you are going to be disappointed by anything new on the 360. Everytime I go from FM2 to GT5, the graphics just hit you in the face.. even if they aren't really 1080p, and a lot of the graphical elements are 30fps, it still makes for compelling viewing.
But, it's clear GT5 is only 'adequate' as far as physics go. I regularly spend 2-3 hours sessions playing GT5p and FM2 at my brothers, and after you've gotten over the impressive visuals of GT5, you realise that the cars are easier to drive, noticeably the traction is so much more controllable, it doesn't seem to bat an eyelid under weight transfer, you can almost lift off the throttle and have no penalty when getting back on the power, it just hooks up so easily, and trail braking has little effect on the suspension. FM2 is far from a sim, but it does seem to have a lot more 'inputs' into it's phsyics engine that have a tangible effect.
Each to their own, I'll for-go some headline graphics numbers for more raw racing prowess any day..
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that GT5 is sub-par or that you are a graphics whore, I remember your days on FM2 on here, so know you can race!, however you must admit that GT5 is not going to be anywhere near a proper sim, it just hasn't the spare processing capacity after the graphics to do too much, the rolling starts for example are apparantely a necessity are they not to ensure either textures or geometry stays below an acceptable limit, and you do get the impression from the vague responses to what level of damage/weather etc would/will be in GT5 that they are not sure what they can shoe horn in and won't commit.
