lost odyssey amazing

i dont get any at all ! :D :D also load times are almost instant and that was a complaint from what i heard.

Albeit i am playing it from teh hard drive :D

mass effect was pretty bad with texture load and jerky screen. Lost odyssey has been silky smooth in every department so far :)

Really tempted to get hold of this as i'm in the mood for a decent jrpg, should be quite cheap now as well. Looked up some footage and it looks really good, don't know how i missed this first time round.

I still think it's the best RPG this Gen. So it's a must buy IMO :p

I've just started playing LO again after leaving it for awhile. I started from my last save file which is at the end of the 2nd disc. Got to say I'm once more impressed, the characters and dream stories are brilliant.

However once again the leveling system gets on my nerves. It allows you to gain just enough XP to struggle through the area, but not enough to relax and simply enjoy the locations. Its quite annoying.

quite a few RPGS incoming which i'm looking forward to e.g. Tales of Vesperia, FFXIII, FF versus, White Knight Chronicles

http://www.digitalmagazine.com.au/2008/05/26/two-times-more-2008-09-rpgs-on-xbox-360-than-ps3/ (oldish list)
From that list Tales of Vesperia will be the best JRPG to come. I've given up on SquareEnix, they're no longer the great JRPG makers they where. It seems they want to try and become something else, the end result is a very poor game/product hidden behind tremendous productions values.

As for Tales of Vesperia, people in the US are going crazy about it saying its a true classic. However I wouldn't hold my breath on a EU release, Namco are hell-bent on catagorising sales numbers and have delayed the EU release to summer 2009. But as has happened before with them, I cant see them ever releasing it here.

voice actors aint bad at all imo - Jansen is quite genuinely amusing (his voice sounds familiar but cant place it) and i'm only on disc 1.

I'll have to join in is saying this is a supprise jem. I put of playing it for a long time for some reason and regret doing so.

It's nothing revolutionalry, but very highly polished and has a great story.

I think its awful, the battles take so long to load and once they've loaded they take soooo long. Don't like the characters much either. Pretty average stuff in my opinion, theres nothing that really grabs me.

I guess I can see why people would like it but I'm not a fan.

Picked this up for £10 at Xmas... havent really played it much at all but might give it a try after all these good recommendations :D

Well I am slow on the uptake, only got my xbox recently. Got this game cheap as an idea to timewaste my evenings in the NZ winter.

I'm not enjoying this as much as I thought. Jensen is annoying as hell and with a pain of an american accent on him, too annoying imo. Fight scenes drag on for ages. Is it me or when you click on an enemy (using the enemy scanner skill) I still can't see how much HP is left. That leads on to another thing - SDTV I use and I cannot read 90% of what's on the screen. The dream sequences might be beautifully written but after 4 or 5 dream sequences I just got bored and flashed through them. Kaim has about as much emotion as a stale battered fish. Why do the conversations in the game take sooo long to complete. There's always like 10 second pauses between each characters speech.

I'll keep playing for now because I've only got Burnout Paradise as my other game.

Next gen just really doesn't seem all that great.

It wont do to be honest on an SDTV, I'm not putting you down, I've had a 360 for about a year and a half, and I've only been playing on a HDTV since christmas, so for the entire year previous to that i was entirely underwhelmed like you. :)

had this game since release but never got further than the first disc originally, started playing it again awhile back and 90 hours later ive completed everything plus the DLC, just dropping in to say this game is truley amazing and has a great ending.

Feel almost bad that it can be snapped up so cheap now too as the production value is so high,

thoughts?

Hmm, same here. Near the end of the first disc, uni work took over and I never went back to the game.

I just might now...Cheers ^^/

I started this game, but couldnt figure out how to kill the first boss lol

You climb up a mountain in the rain, then some boss attacks you at the top.

I must be doing something wrong because he wipes the floor with me, cant even get him close to half health

My future with JRPG's lies in the hands of this game. Thus far my only attempts at JRPG's ahve been the Blue Dragon demo, which simply made me want to throw up on my screen. Everything about it irritated me in 2 minutes flat.

I recently tried The Last Remnant.

May as well judge FPS games by playing Clive Barker's Jericho and Blacksite :p

The game plays heavily on specific weaknesses and immunities.
Make sure you're aggresive with keeping your characters healed up too. Fire rings on your immortals is a good idea, and try and keep your GC level up.

It seems like he always goes for jenson, i gave him a shield and the other two took him down. :D

I really need to have another solid go at this game...think my plasma might screen hot screaming burn in pain at me though, as I know I'd end up playing it for far too long at once, especially if I got a couple of days off in a row.

Downside for me is I got to disc 4 then my old 360 had to be swapped out for a non RROD hardware issue, and because they agreed to up me to an elite, I couldn't keep my saves :(
Don't really want to replay it all, although I bet saving it to the HDD makes the game a hell of a lot smoother, loading seemed to be what held it back before.
