Easy's Home Cinema Film Choice opening night thread

Dark Knight / Transformers.

These will be the first movies to be watched when I'm finished with my cinema project. :)

Don't know if its out on Blu-Ray yet but watched Jurassic Park saturday night through my new surround set up and damn it was good, only standard DVD version though so didn't look great but the 'boom boom boom' of the T-rex :D

How did everyone miss Iron Man? great visuals, not at all depressing, lots of bullets to test the surround sound steering, and then big explosions to test out the sub.

Dark Knight just for the imax scenes. Opening scene of Saving Private Ryan for surround lovelyness, or the final shoot out in 3:10 to yuma is pretty intense.

Was about to post both of those.

3:10 was something I had totally forgotten about, quality shootout indeed.

Saving ryans priavtes is a must, but would be tempted to take transformers over Dark knight, as watching both S.P.R and TDK might make you horribly depressed :D

Die Hard 4
Wall-E
IRON MAN
Hellboy 2
The Dark Knight
KING KONG ( Without a doubt the best HD DEMO movie out right now )

All those movies are the best of the best in picture and sound quality that BD has to offer.

KING KONG is the current "KING" of video and audio quality on blu-ray. Not a great movie but it certainly show off your new home cinema set up.

Disagree, some of the CGI scenes with King and the T-Rexes are a bit obviously 'CGI'. Dark Knight is awesome. I was impressed by Iron Man as well. Transformers is good, but to be honest, I get lost as to what robot is fighting what robot!

Jaws. Just Jaws. Iconic, Retro, Awesome.

Although since you really want to push hardware then isn't Wall*E on BluRay meant to be the most awesome thing since ring pull beans? I heard that anyway.

Cloverfield sounded pretty nice in places when i first set my stuff up, but it's not everyones choice of film.
