Hatton v Mayweather II

Fixed ;)

all 3 would be far more interesting than seeing Ricky Ko'd within a few rounds or holding on for an entire fight. He's just not in their league. Mayweather and Pacquiao are simply awesome boxers, Margarita is between a great boxer and a great brawler but he's basically the toughest brawler of all time(almost). Hatton is a brawler and not that good with it. He's not in the same league as the other 3 and Margarita mostly makes it into their league due to a, frankly, ridiculous ability to take punishment.

Your probably right but I'd still put money on Hatton vs Pacquiao being a more competitive fight than Margarita vs Pacquiao.

Hatton has been beaten by 1 person; Mayweather. Hes the best boxer in the world, and one of the best to walk the earth. yet, you seem to have got this ridicilous notion that Hatton is crap?

Wow, will you ever stop your mindless rambling and start talking some sense/stop posting?

Hatton didnt really have a hope the first time out, lets just hope if this goes ahead he does better this time round!

yes, but in that one fight against real world class opposition he was utterly and totally demolished, he wasn't in the fight for a single second and truly showed he has no ability to fight at that level, while the other 3 have all proven multiple times they can stand up and fight against the best.

Had Hatton been slightly in the fight, close to winning a round, had remotely hurt Mayweather with even one punch then he'd get more credit from me. He's simply not in the same league, I can say that because we saw them fight and one guy came out looking like he could go another 20 rounds, and one looked like he couldn't stand up.

Hell, to be perfectly frank, Mayweather didn't even look like he was working that hard, he wasn't really pushing Hatton hard and looked like he had another gear, or even two to move into should he require it. He was on cruise control through the fight, sorry but thats the way it is.

What is it that makes Hatton good , he doesn't take a huge amount of punishment, as I said Mayweahter never really went all out on him and isn't the biggest puncher ever. Hatton doesn't have counter punching, not much in the way of defense, he doesn't really throw combo's, i'm not overly impressed by his jab and he hasn't got massive power, he didn't have any accuracy against Mayweather and I don't think he'd have the power to knock out Pacqiao, Margarito or Mayweather, or the accuracy to hit Mayweather or Pacqiao, Margarito's a boxing bag, hell I could hit him, just couldn't come close to knocking him out. He's good, he could be the 10th best boxer out of 6 billion, that still doesn't make him good enough to compete with any of the 3 mentioned previously, they ARE on another level to him, one he'll never break into.

I've never rated Hatton. He is just very aggresive in his style and can suprise people with his come forward approach. Lazcano and Collazo both troubled Hatton having him very close to been down. I give Hatton a chance in the Pacman fight but I still think he will get dominated by the movement of Pac. Call me unpatriotic but I'll be rooting for the Pacman come May.

Because mayweather beat Hatton, that means margarito and Pacman will both do exactly the same? Right, yeah....that makes sense...

Sorry but where did I say that? No where, I said it wasn't that Mayweather beat him it was that when up against one of the top people in the world he didn't even put up a fight, he wasn't remotely close to doing anything, his comeback fight, against a man who quite literally couldn't use his right, even then he couldn't take him down properly and his corner did throw in the towel to early, he was taking punishment but frankly, for Hatton's overwhelming dominance of a guy that can't box anymore he didn't look like stopping him at all and really wouldn't have hurt him to have another couple of rounds and finish on his feet, another sign of a guy without real power.

Pacman will beat him, because he, like most other top boxers, is able to counter punch very well, has superb accuracy and probably better speed than Hatton, he moves FAR better than Hatton and will probably fight similarly to against Hoya(which wasn't a good show of his abilities, Hoya was never close to in it), drop in 2 accurate hard punches and out and Hatton won't get him. Hatton has speed, but no accuracy, he'll throw 150 punches and land 50, Pacman will throw 150 punches and land 90, or against Hatton probably 110 because Hatton doesn't really move anywhere but directly into your punches.

Margarito isn't necessarily a fantastic boxer, I think he's got better hits than Hatton, but Hatton simply has no chance of standing up to the sustained, unstoppable assault that Margarito will bring to him, if Hatton could move and defend he might have a chance at outscoring him by avoiding his shots, but he doesn't move and doesn't defend. Margarito will knock him out.

And the same could be said for Williams, he tailed off towards the end but Margarito was still unanimously beat. ;)

Williams and Marg are beasts how the hell they make 10st 7p (147) is beyond me. What is marg 6ft 0/1 and willaims 6ft 2? I'm 6ft 1 and when i got down to 11 stone i looked anorexic lol, not a nice look.

Well, looks like there might be renewed interest from mayweather as it seems the Pacquiao fight is off.
Manny wants 60-40 apparently and wont agree to 50-50.

So, mayweather 2 or de la hoya?

i dont see any point in ricky fighting de la hoya after his fight with pacman he looked old/slow/unfit, pacman is beeing greedy and ovbiously doesnt think hatton is in his league.

Agreed - De La Hoya looked, old/slow and unfit in his fight against Manny. This said, we all know the kind of fighter De La Hoya is. Lets not forget his fight with mayweather last year where the decsion was very close - Infact, many would argue Oscar won that fight.

I think - Mayweather, De la Hoya or Pacquiao is an exciting prospect for Hatton. lets just hope whoever he fights next its a good one !!

Some of the negative posts about Hatton shock me tbh. Granted he is not as skillful as some (although under estimated imo) but the guy has incredible work rate, is as brave as they come and has never once failed to entertain me. Is a true warrior imo and should most definately go down as one of the legends of the game.

Would have to agree, sometimes its not all about how graceful you look in the ring, its about getting the job done and done good :]

According to Bunce's Boxing Hour, ODLH was 2lbs lighter at fight time, than the weigh in, so something went seriously wrong there and would explain his lethargic performance.

If he does things properly, he'd give Hatton one hell of a fight and one which I'd love to see.

their last fight was rather bland imo. would be nice to see a rematch, even if the outcome it the same, would hopefully be more intresting

wonder whos fault that was

mayweather is easily the most boring fighter alive, I wouldnt want to watch another one of his matches
