least its got a flash unlike iPhone!

I really dont think any cameraphone hits the mark... someone I know has a SE C905 and the images are not even close to a budget 3.2mp camera sold 4 years ago!
 
No of course they will never replace digi cams... but i'd still prefer a 'decent' camphone sensor over a crap one!

i'm also tempted by this unit, at least till the n97 comes out. i'm already bored of my n96 (even though it is a seriously nice phone). i have found one for just over £260 sim free new, and if i keep it in good nick i could sell it on gaybay when i get my n97 for more or the same price i'd pay for it now, so its effectively free to me really.

why are people prepared to pay more on gaybay than the items they are bidding on are actually worth new? a quick google search would yield better prices than many things on there!! mind you, i shouldnt complain, mugs have given me loads of money for phones they could have got cheaper from a website over the years! sorry to hijack thread btw.
 
I've not seen a better camera on a phone than my old 3.2mp cybershot yet! Surely they could at least add something similar? It's not exactly the latest cutting edge technology but it was excellent.

Unfortunately it seems that CorePlayer doesn't work on the 5800 yet. Simple enough to convert files to MP4. Time consuming though. Nevertheless, I'm sold and have placed a pre-order!;)

i need some breakdown coverage, might go rac just to get the 5% saving on this phone. how long does it take to become an rac member though? i mean how long until i can use the code on the website in question?? any ideas?
 
HA HA i've found the way to get the code without buying rac coverage! bagged my 5800 about 2 minutes ago for 227, bargain i say (well we'll see). now all i have to do is sell my n96...

i also used quidco and got another £8.40 off! it just keeps getting cheaper! i could sell it on gaybay for a tidy profit already! (if they didnt take 10% of my bleedin winnings godamnit)

i'm off now to get aa coverage for £10, this recession lark isnt all bad so far...
 
Carphonewarehouse is now stocking in store on o2 and virgin/vodafone i think it is? Round about the £200 mark + top up..however i don't know if it is unlocked or not.
 
Got one today.. it seems it is unlocked :) however u have to pay £20 top up regardless of using debit/credit card or cash.
 
hey oj, you got cod4 yet? a family member posted it for me and sent it recorded second rather than first so it might take a bit longer! sorry about that matey!

anyway back on topic, i've ended up getting my 5800 for £219.49 which i think is fair enough considering its a proper unlocked unbranded version. i doubt they'd sell unlocked ones for payg? the networks subsidise the handset slightly dont they? would seem a crazy thing to do to sell unlocked? how many different sims have you tried in it? also, first impressions?
 
Must be what's at the post office but i've not had a chance to go get it yet lol its not a problem though, will go down on monday ! Anddd they don't tell you its unlocked but most of carphonewarehouses phones are so I thought i'd give it a try..n if it wasnt unlocked id just return or sell it :) These £20 credited sims don't sell too well though :(
 
One this about this phone. It's not a deal breaker for me, but I was expecting it to come with the fabled "Comes with music" service. Entered into a contract with O2, but can't find an activation pin for "Comes with music" in the box.

Everything else is great thus far though.

every review i've read so far has said that 'nokia comes with music' is on this phone. maybe o2 have tinkered with it? i cant wait to get mine now!! tempted to make a quick buck on gaybay though...
