well ive had my wired xbox 360 pad since the very first day the xbox 360 came out and now its on its lasts legs, so need another now

well anyway just looked at 2 highstreet game stores and the wireless pad for windows is 40 quid, will this come with a infrared usb dongle? or will the pad work off 1 of the 2 logitech infrared dongles ive already got plugged in for my keyboard and mouse?

expecting for 40 quid for it to come with usb dongle and charger pack.

reason for asking is because neither of sites say what comes in the package, they just boast on about how good the pad is.

Thanks

Cant say for sure without a link obvoiously but the wireless reciever is usually included in the packs that retail for about £40. Def wont work with your usb dongles though as the pad's 2.4ghz wireless and not infrared.

I bought my controller and reciever separately before the packs existed which stung me about £60:(

ah cheers mate,i would prefer to buy them separately my self, as i would prefer the black controller more to go with my media centre, but im going to guess that that would be a pain to do as i cant seem to find receiver on its own anywhere, where you pay over counter

guess another white one will have to do :)

cheers

You can get 'PC Kits' that consist of a wireless controller and USB receiver. However the receiver unit is not fully supported by Windows. No joke, getting the microsoft device recognised by microsoft windows is 50/50. Check out this thread on the xbox forums: http://forums.xbox.com/9/12555322/ShowPost.aspx#12555322

Unfortunately for me I could never the get the wireless gaming receiver to work properly.

I've got this and I've not had a single problem getting it running.

I've since hooked up another wireless controller to it for playing the LEGO games with the GF's son :)

Got the same and it seems to work great, no charger though. Only really used it for playing Dead Space on my HDTV so far though.

Yea thats what im planning on getting, was gunna go fetch it today after work but to nackered , only 33 quid aswell where ive found it.

Need me controller for the racing games i play and third person shooters.Dont ask me how or why but somehow ive just got into N4F Undercover and me pad decided to break whilst playing that

If the box says "Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" (and be in a red box), or something along those lines, it will come with the dedicated Crossfire adapter. If it simply says "Wireless Xbox 360 Controller" (ie. Without "for Windows"), it won't, and will require a seperate purchase.

As someone else said, if it's £40 or so, chances are it will come with it.

Will said included wireless dongle allow any Microsoft wireless pad to connect to your PC, say for instance Hori Xbox360 arcade joysticks?

Guys - I got a pad/receiver pack the other day but I've only just got around to trying it out. It works flawlessly in my vista x64 rig

So far I've only tried devil may cry 4 and burnout, but it's been great! Still got CoD5 and gta4 to try, but with both of those titles I'll probably go back to mouse and keyboard. Just wish I'd had this setup at xmas when I was really into deadspace

Anyway, what I'd really like to know is, is there a way of putting the pad 'to sleep' after you disconnect the receiver without taking out the batteries? My pad has been flashing ever since and it's lighting up my darkened room...

SW.

Would also like to know this, have exactly the same issue. I've kinda got used to taking out the batteries now.

Got the xbox pc adaptor for xmas, great bit of kit. Does anyone know if its possible to remap the buttons, was using it to play crysis but didnt like the default layout, couldnt find anything in the game menu to manually assign buttons. I've got a belkin n52te gamepad & that allows me to assign a keyset in windows before I launch the game, can you do the same with the xbox pad? Could use the belkin but some games I prefer to play relaxed with my feet up :)
