I have the Razer diamondback mouse, and i just cannot get use to it, the side buttons i do not like it feels way to light.

I have come from a extremely old microsoft mouse the first optical mouse. I think i need a mouse which is big for hands but also very hightech.

Just not sure which mouse would fit the bill right now.

logitech mx518 ive had mine since the day it came out that must be nearly 4/5years ago.. its still going strong and feels awesome. £20 on ocuk...bargain

IntelliMouse 3.0

Optical...so your already used to it. Nice size.
Little simplistic though. I use mine for CSS and love it :)
Better than the Kone which I still have.

Failing that...MX518...Most common mouse used for gamers.

Sounds like you are more of a "Palm Groper" as the Razer Diamondback (Which I also have), is more for Claw Gripers due to their lightweight and low profile.

If you want to go for another Razer mouse that fits the palm user, then the Razer DeathAdder or even the Razer/Microsoft co-produced Habu could be suitable.

MX518 +1.

Mouse is awesome and I've never had any problems with it.

MX500 used to be an awesome mouse too but don't think there being produced anymore.

It really astonishes me how many people have MX518s!
I personally have only had experience of the Razer Lachesis and the Roccat Kone. The latter I can fully recommend, the former I cannot. ;)

Logitech G5, best mouse I've ever used.

One thing to note about aquiring a mouse is everyone will have their own preference, whats good for one may not be ideal for another.

If you don't like a mouse, sell it & get another. I'm happy with the G5 now. :)

I did try the IntelliMouse 3.0 with some persiverance but coudn't get used to the shape or the dpi no matter what I did.
