I've just looked at a bank statement and noticed I've been debited twice for a single purchase I made last weekend.

Is this something I need to take up with my bank or the shop that debited me?

Cheers :)

Usually you won't be the only person this happened to though and it'll probably be returned to you shortly, at least that's the experience i've had.

Just spoke to a mate who works there and apparently it's happened to a fair few people who bought stuff on saturday and that I can go in with a bank statement and receipt and get it returned! :D

Ye we've had that happen recently, just prove that you've been charged twice and the retailer should refund your card. :)

OCUK charged me 7 times for a single item on Friday, due to several timeouts at the Confirm Order page. But as usual, excellent customer service, problem rectified and money refunded by Tuesday :)

It's funny this thread should pop up, I was in Holland and Barratt tonight, popped my pin in and the machine said "transaction done, please remove card". The women then said it hadn't uploaded to her till properly  and proceeded to try it again, TWICE! She finally scanned the card and got me to sign for it.

I sure hope it doesn't charge me several times!

Might look like it on your account until friday , payments get "shadowed" until they poll on a night....

It won't actually get charged , just appears to , so the customer knows who much money they have available in there account.

Once the server polls , its rectifies it. Sometimes it takes another day but very often.

IRCC holland and barret use integral as there solution , which we use also.

Cool, thanks. :)

Shouldn't banks ring you up when there's multiple transactions of the same type and amount within a few minutes?

The H&M dbl charge was nation wide, went instore today and they said there was some error with their system over the weekend. Should be recredited automatically in the next few days. Already got my money back in my account.
