Tyres that last longer than 8 months?

I meant the Proxes T1-R/S. The rest are rubbish, seriously, do some proper research before you buy them, in the test I read they came second from bottom of about 20 tyres.

Not the case at all.

So the R888 are rubbish? But then I guess they would be in those tests you use.

The CF1 are reasonable tyre, probably less jelly feeling that the rather unnerving T1R tyres.

Last owner put Michelin PS2s on mine god knows when and they look no different now as to when I got them several months ago! that's with almost 10k worth of driving!

Rears have 4~mm left and fronts have at least 5-6mm.

The R888s can barely be considered a road tyre; they are not in 99% of people's consideration for tyres.

wat.

The T1R's are commonly regarded as having some of the stiffest sidewalls in their class.

I was under the impression that they were distinctly average in sidewall stiffness.

Stiffer than the T1-S but nowhere near as stiff as some other tyres out there.

Aye me too.

lengthy thread on the EVO forums about them having major sidewall flex

I didnt ever have an issue on my old car, but that was an 820kg FWD hothatch, not a ~1300kg AWD supersaloon capable of biblical cornering g force.

Oooh MRS!

Ive got 4 brand new T1-R's on my GTI-6, had some T1-S a few years back on my Rover and thought they were alright, people were recommending the BF goodrichs profilers but I wasnt going to buy them on a couple of recomendations/they seem to be what ATS try to pimp onto you if you go in.

I have some Falken FK452's (recommended by loads of people) on my leon at the moment and the front 2 are nearly on the marker after 8 months. I only do 10k a year and dont hoon it so im a tad narked. Can anyone suggest anything

Get your suspension geometry checked.

I'm needing 2 fronts the same size and i can't make my mind up on the FK452's, the Toyo T1R's or spend a bit more and get the Vredestein ultrac sessantas, hmmm decisions.

If you can get some Goodyear Eagle NCT5s in your size, they're pretty good. I've had them on my accord since August 2007 (I think) and done about 15k and there's plenty of tread left in them. I don't drive sedately, either
