UK's LOWEST PRICE - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB GDDR5 GFX Card - £144.99 +VAT

92 at load

That is high, would not do the card much good long term, imo. However idle temps are far superior to HIS model - so perhaps with a small % fan speed increase the temps would improve massively, and yet the cooler still manage to be quieter with lower temps than HIS model at 72c.

The ATI Radeon HD 4870 GPU brings the power of graphics "supercomputing" to gamers, setting a new standard for visual computing...

Don't you just love bull :D

92 under Furmark though. :p

Too late, couldnt kill a Sapphire 1024MB when I tried to. :o

Are there any third-party coolers that will fit this card and perform better?

I'm thinking that a Zalman-style design would fit almost anything.

Although the stock cooler seems adequate if it really is silent at idle. I'm just used to my card being silent at full load (Zalman to the rescue!).

But what the hell. I want one. I have a couple of hundred in fun money. So I'll have one.

One of the Arctic Cooling coolers or a Neo Vortex Akasa could work, do not want to confirm it as these cards are selling a little well for me to risk totaling one. :p

Just keep the VRM cooling in place, it already has heatsinks applied it appears.

Silly question, but would this be a sensible upgrade for my system (in sig), using a 22" Samsung monitor at 1680 x 1050? My budget was supposed to be £100 for a CPU, but I'm a sucka for a deal!

Playing the usual Crysis, COD, Fear2 etc. and itching to order....

I should hope so, I'm planning on making the exact same move you are (same screen resolution and CPU speed as you too!). :D

Glad to hear I'm not the only one :D

Only problem is, my CPU is only clocking to 2ghz at the moment so it's already a bottleneck, but I'm going to try to sort that out this weekend.

So, so tempted.....

edit: oops, just ordered it. I blame too much wine.
