Present for an Author

I want to buy something to support her..authoring though, as that is where she has helped me a lot.

And anyway, other then rowing, writing is what she lives for.

Ok, well, maybe another direction? How about like a voucher for a spa day out? Something to help her relax perhaps?

As an 'writer' myself I'd say writers are pretty hard to buy for. People generally want to get something for them to utilitise in their craft. However, to physically write all you need is a PC [or pen and paper] and a lot of people aren't fussed about how good those things are as long as they're functional.

Instead of giving her the physical tools for the job, you could provide mental ones that would fuel the writing, such as a rare book they might enjoy or music. Or even a visit to someone inspirational.

A really old style typewriter.

Or a Macbook or a Netbook (then she can write anywhere !)
Aye I considered getting her a MBP, but she got one literally last week from work as an upgrade for her laptop anyway.

I like the idea of an old style typewriter, but I can't quite get away from the idea of buying her something useful.

There's a couple of antique shops on Kings Parade that might be worth a visit.
Possibly, I can't see her being into antiques, but might find something nice to do with writing.
