Oh God. Been toying with the idea of getting an X2. Had decided that I wouldn't. Now I'm tempted again.
Will my IP35 Pro bottleneck this card?
Will my 600W Seasonic be enough? (only has 2 6 pin PCI-E cables)

seasonic 600w will be plenty, I havd 500w running gtx280 and 9600gt til recently and loads of other stuff, you have another 100watts there...

2x6pin PCIe via adapter -> 8 pin port on card then
2xmolex via adapter -> 6 pin port on card ?

I might well get one someday but for now I think the 4870 will have enough grunt to keep me going at 1920x1200

Would ideally need to upgrade my mobo for an X2 and I am going to wait till i7 is cheaper to make a move to that platform!

OpenCL will work, but the third card will show a performance boost in some games.

Makes more sense than 2x 4870 X2, you can run it on a 650w Corsair TX but I would recommend a 750w depending on your system.
