Glad don't live in south Australia

Oh yes there is! I think the hottest I've been in was 42 degrees C in Prague and it was horrible! 25-26 is about right imo.

I was in Rome in 2007 during the heatwave. On the last day it got to 40-42 degrees. Im not great with the heat anyway, especially not when traipsing around a big city all day.

Working in 40degC heat is no fun at all. It's easy to say cool down but unless you are in an air conditioned office I don't see the boss applauding you for bringing a paddling pool in. When I worked in Perth it was 25degC when I left the house a 7:30am. I was sweating at the end of the 15 minute walk to work. Then I rested for 10 minutes and worked in a kitchen, midday temps of 40degC absolutely not nice.

Give me the serious cold over the serious hot any day. Much easier to put a layer on and be active than be active when you can't cool down.

My sympathy to all those Aussies.

I’ve been in southern Spain when it has been over 40 and all you can do in the middle of the day is just lie in the shade, going for a walk in the afternoon is not a pleasant experience.

My sister lives in Logan, Brisbane. She describes getting to the car and standing outside while the air con cools it down enough to get in. Sort of the opposite of us having to defrost.

I'd melt in that heat.

Exactly. Holidays are different. Real life is just not like that.

I've hiked a good 10 (or more) miles a day for 2 days in Morocco in MIDDLE of summer before (in mountains mind you), so it's not too bad.
But yes, it depend where you work as well.

ffs i am sitting here freezing with the wind blowing outside. God i wish it was 40. Atleast while i am off. I agree having to work in those conditions isn't fun.

Hot here in Sydney, off to melbourne in the next week or so. I hope its cooled down by then. Very humid here!!

Melbourne Wont be anywhere near as humid as sydney..

Although the heat wave might still be going on and be hot.

Adelaides been sitting at 40, Coastal regions a fair bit cooler from the sea breeze, but the heat is there if the sun stops.

25 on sunday coming up:cool::cool::cool:

A bit of a hijack - but where in Moroc? I've got a trip booked in mid-May and am thinking about going to Toubkal Massif.

Hotest i have ever been was 1 day in florida when it was about 38, playing crazygolf has never been so hard, i love the heat though so it was good :)

A bit of a hijack - but where in Moroc? I've got a trip booked in mid-May and am thinking about going to Toubkal Massif.

This was almost 5 years ago now (summer 2004 - yes I was 17 before someone chimes in), so I can't exactly remember everything. But a group of us (6 total) stayed at the Kasbah du Toubkal for 5 days (so next to the are where you're going). We hiked to the next valley (with 2 mules and their drivers/guides) by going to the bottom of our valley, then over the top of the other side (sort of) and then down into the next valley - which all in all was about 10 and a bit miles. We spent the night in the village in that valley (in a small guest house sort of place, hence the mules as they had our sleeping bags, water and food). Before hiking back to the Kasbah the next morning but taking a different (longer, but less hilly route) more along the valley floors.

Was funny to see a small shack selling cold coke at the top of the valley side on the first day, but we were also rather happy to see it as we only had water with us, and it was getting rather boring drinking it all day.
And getting in a sandstrom on the way back was, how do I put it, painful. Who knew sand could hurt so much.

Anyway, this was just a few years after the floods so not all the roads were fixed up in the mountains, so the journey there and back was rather uncomfortable (we spent 2 days in Marrakech before going to mountains, and then a further day after comming back before flying home).
I can't remember the name of where we stayed in Marrakech, but it was right next to one of the mosques and overlooking the market.

I hate when its too hot or too cold, British weather=win win win!!! :D

British weather for the absolute lose...nothing riles me more than this stupid british weather we get here...all it ever does is rain rain and more rain...rain in the summer, rain in the winter...hell rain in every bloody season you get here lol:p.

40+c is a bit too much even for me, i spend most of my summers in Canada and its gets to about almost 40ish there and its pretty bad at times...days are hellish but the nights are nice and cool...so spent most of my time in the house during the day and night time would be the time id come out.

For me my ideal temps are 25-30ish is about right for me...anything above or lower than that just doesnt agree with me..
