I used to love playinfg Rollercoaster Tycoon (1)

but lost the CD so looking for a alternative!

is rollercoaster tycoon 3 any good? is there a better alternative?

AFAIK RCT3 was the last mainstream theme park game. Graphically better than RCT1/2 (I think Chris Sawyer passed the torch to someone else) but I never really got too far into it. Set up a park, built a couple of rides, tested in first person (a good feature improvement over the earlier versions) but that was about it.

Don't think there's been much in the way of theme park/funfair orientated games since.

Likes Theme Park, RCT-1 and RCT-2 but didn't find RCT-3 as good, not to sure why but it just didn't seem to grab me like the previous games in the series,

M,

rollercoaster tycoon 1 with expansions as said above, sorry but theme park is simply rubbish by comparison, i know it was before RCT and all but doesn't change the fact its not as good! :p

RCT 1 + 2 wich expansions will keep you happy for ages :D

3 went all 3D and just doesnt fell the same type of game anymore :(

maybe its just be but teh only pleasure i got from these games was watching it all go pear shaped.

I bought RCT3 deluxe a while ago and went out of my way to build the most suicidal and death defying park i could.

The actual resource management side is a bit meh for me

Chalk up another one for orignal rollercoaster tycoon and expansions packs, tis great game, Theme Park is ok, just doesn't really beat rollercoaster tycoon in many departments though, if any.

Got the original Theme Park here, going to install it now :D

Many hours lost as a teenager playing this!

I love that game too, i do have the cd however it doesnt seem to work properly...scratched disk?

I loved making my fries really salty and then put a drinks stand right next to the fries stand... :D

I did enjoy rct though i felt it was slightly more like a sim than theme park.

if its a scratched disk you may be able to use brasso in small circular motions going from the inside out to repair it.

not sure but you made need to use DosBox to run it as well!
