Best theme Park Based game?

Theme park was awsome in its day, buts theres no frame limiter, forgot if it was the pentium 2 or 3 it ran too fast on but its gonna run at WARP SPEED :D especially on a modern pc

RCT 1 and 2 were great too, didn't like RCT3 it was too 'different' for me :)

Theme Park the original and the best

Theme Park was *rubbish* looking back at it. :p

RCT2 I think was the peak - RCT3 was good if you got the expansion that let you build tunnels, but it never quite captured RCT2. RCT1 was almost as good as 2, but the sequel added just enough to make it better, without spoiling things.

RCT 2 + expansions was/is the best IMO. Not many enhancements over RCT 1, but the biggest, and most important, was support of higher resolution, allowing you to see a lot more of your park withough zooming all the way out.

I have RCT 3 and expansions. I have enjoyed it, and created some massive parks in sandbox mode, as well as going through the challenges. Some of the things you can do are fantastic, but everything takes so much longer due to it being fully 3D. Even the simplest tasks can be time consuming. In RCT 2, you could just jump straight in, and it was relatively simple.

Oh, and RCT 3 can be a system hog, especially when you have thousands of peeps in your park. I remember it brought my P4 + GF6800 to its knees :D

theme park was good before it went 3d. theme park world was decent but nothing great.

RCT 1/2 were the best really. don't think they'll ever be beaten. 3d just doesn't cut it for tycoons in my opinion.

Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 still the best in the series :)

Theme Park was a lot of fun but Theme Hospital was the best of the 'Theme' games IMO

Didn't have that much of a problem with RCT3 though I'll admit, it can be a bit fiddly to place or remove things precisely in 3D.

Things I didn't like was that I could never work out how the finances for the shops and stalls worked. They gave you figures for profitabilty per hour but as far as I could make out, this didn't seem to correspond to the game world at all.

Also, despite people moaning about being hungry, they seem extremely reluctant to actually visit any of the food stalls despite pricing them reasonably. Would have been nice to develop this side a bit more and include things like side-stalls/arcades etc for that authentic feel.

The staff aspect seemed weak as well, no wage negotiations like in Theme Park, just spend $100 training them up to full and no unhappiness or lost productivity ever!!

RCT was awesome! i loved the shuttle loop coaster, you could make it really dangerous and the car fly off the end lol.. people still went on it regardless! :p
