Very much the same as people talking about country field sports and activities is an excuse for you to get on your hippy high horse and declare something you don't understand as wrong.

Yes, it is hunting. There is nothing wrong with hunting. If our ancestors did not hunt they would have died.

How many rats do you kill a day?

So if im not allowed to shoot them . Can you please explain how "vermin" is going to be controled?

Persil

Put them up in a detention centre then when they get bored and cause havoc, let them out into the wild with a visa, a flat and a couple of hundred quid a week in benefits.

Yeah rats carry all sorts of nasty diseases, not least of which is leptospirosis. Getting your pup vaccinated, and then regular ratting trips with good wound hygiene is the way to go. Not to mention regular worming. The more they're exposed to it the more resilient they become.

Generally rat bitten terriers (or lurchers) get a small swelling at the bite site which goes away in a day or so. Very (very) rarely the dog will contract an illness. Early treatment with antibiotics saves the day. I've never had it happen to me/mine though.

Fair enough. :D Good to know you are prepared.

awesome thread. good work. rats need exterminating. id rather them die from a crushed skull/instant death than its insides slowly turning to goop from rat poison.

OT

I know we don't exactly get on but looking over your post history today I'm glad you seem to be returning to your old self, keep talking and interacting with people because it helps a lot, anyway I'm sure CRHT are offering you some good advice, there are plenty of resources on the net that are very positive and uplifting, many can be found by just typing how you feel into google.

Isn't that for "desert rats"?:o:D

EDIT: I've had a long day so I'm about to retire. Thanks for the lively evening; especially to Scuzi and those who made tonight interesting - not to mention spoke with some common sense. ;) Good night, ladies and gents.
