why does everyone always use the blue-ray & wireless argument for buying a PS3
I wouldn't say that everyone uses this arguement, many often cite the fact that the 360 hardware was/is unreliable too. It's certainly one of the reasons why I chose to get the PS3 in addition to my 360.
Personally i will only buy a blue-ray player if it becomes the only format available, and DVD is no longer around... but by then there may be another format doing the rounds
You can't deny it though, having Blu Ray and wifi built in, does negate the need to have to then by costly add-ons (work-arounds not included here), and regardless of whether to have a need for BR, as a storage media for games it's bound to come in handy for the future - I wouldn't be surprised, if the 360's HD drive hadn't died out, that we would have seen games on that in the coming years.
As for BR, well, I still don't see a hugh difference over modern DVDs, whether this is due to my current screen size (28"), I don't know, so at the moment I'm only really seeing it as a bit of future-proofing for when games get too much for DVDs - which may or may not happen, who knows!
My Xbox is cabled to my router, so no need for wireless.
You have no need for wireless, but that's not to say others don't, for me personally, I had to spend an extra £70 (at the time) to get wireless for my 360, as I didn't want cabling trailing around, and due to the distance from console to router. With my PS3, all I did was turn it on and enter my wifi details - sorted.
Yes the PS3 can do more, but at the end of the day i bought my Xbox360 to be a games console.. nothing more, nothing less... and this is what it does
Not a whole lot more than 360, unless you have stuck Linux on it I suppose, but people buy for different reasons, evidently you have purchased yours for games, but some people are interested in the other features both offer - so whichever you choose, be happy, or if you can, get both
Scort.
