HAWX looks amazing if its not just promotional crap, be interested to see how PS3/Xbox 360 are gonna handle that, it looks too much for them IMO

i lost interest in lost planet, i couldnt stay alive long enough, and yeah that was a fantastic looking game.

Assasins creed is amazing for graphics, but too repetitive, love the funny voices though, "what a funny man, he's sitting on the roof!" :D

re

farcry 2 has its problems but it is still worth going through as long as you have a decent system and crank all settings up to max:)i quite enjoy farcry 2

mirrors edge also has good graphics

Bioshock looks good also

yup FC2 look amazing and the fire propagation is endless fun! like encircling a zebra in fire:eek:
storyline is pretty crappy but i dont get tired of just running around launching assaults on outposts.

Lost Planet is worth a look if you want a shooter. I picked it up for £7 delivered (shouldn't be hard to find if you look), and looks stunning in places. A few screenies below from the DX10 version:
A bit blurry in places, but there is a lot of post-processing involved, and it really does look gorgeous when moving, especially when you have some of the larger bugs attacking you :)

Was about to mention that, a real graphical orgasm :) Goes with the recent weather too ! £7 you say ? Colonies Edition ?

Does anyone know how to get DX10 to run on XP?

I have downloaded it and installed but still recons im runing 9.0c.

I did read in a mag you can force it to run but they then didnt go onto say how, google isnt prosperous either.

i dont think you can get DX10 for xp, as vista is the wrapper for it. I could be wrong, but i looked weeks ago, would love to know a way round so i can get it if you can :)

Grid is enhanced for quad cores, gta as mentioned is a must, a ive noticed more new ones are utilising them. Of course it doesnt matter when you overclock your quad because it can run anything

It was in Custom PC mag they di an article about forcing DX10 on xp but never went on to say how. I hope that mentioning a pc mag isnt a banable ofence if so i will change it.

Some gamers have been misled by the Crysis demo’s Advanced System Options, which don’t allow you to select the Very High settings in Windows XP, even though you can in Vista. This implies that the effects require a DirectX 10 renderer, but gamers over at the Crysis-Online forums have found that you can edit the game’s config files to force on the Very High effects in Windows XP, and it apparently works.

Does this mean you can actually run DirectX 10 games on Windows XP? Nope, but it does mean that the Crysis demo uses DirectX 9

That was just unlocking certain effects which they had locked into DX10, there reasoning being only high end PC users would even be able to use them (people with the high end DX10 cards). With Crysis Warhead they gave the options to everybody :). I dont think Dx10 has ever been succesfully put onto XP.

Thats one of the reasons i want to upgrade my os, XP is getting lost in the past. theres no point me running sli cards and cant even run dx10, my dilema is do i wait for windows 7 or go for vista.

Id wait for Windows 7. Theres a positive buzz about it, and it sounds like what Vista should have been.

Would i be right in saying vista was a form of testing ground for 7? from what i have seen a lot of vista displays and stuff are used in 7!

Im considering downloading windows 7 so i can try somethings like games and stuff, but how would i go about getting drivers and stuff for the likes of gfx

You could say that, Windows 7 really does look to most like a fixed up Vista, which annoys me as a Vista user (shouldnt have to pay for fixes yadayada). I wouldnt know about the driver support sorry :(.

This to me sounded ridiculous, a mate said there are talks for vista ultimate and certian others versions of vista to be upgraded free to windows 7. but to me thats just ridculous
