Had a quick shot of multiplayer last night for the first time, seemed like good fun. Better than I was expecting.

Well finally managed to get it working last night after updating anything I could think of last night and then having to reinstall it again grrr. Only had a quick stab at it but should have plenty of time tonight to get stuck into missions.
I notice with Patch 2 graphics look better, seems better lighting.
Anyone roughly around 30% to 50% through the game? If so could I have yer game save as I've lost mine.

I have to agree about the story....first 20% made sense ....then 20-30% of cons insulting you then "oh get this [insert item) which i got a little tired of. From about 40 to 60% (completed it) just introduces 6 other people each with 5ish missons but very little in the way of connected story line ... "go see my mate, he'l hook you up" ...hmmmm.
Good game, i enjoyed it but expected more heli missons.
No AA and crazy GPU memory requirement (1.5GB on max) did it for me.

Is this a bug? I came beck to my safehouse in a corvette-type car and I see about 6 or 7 of the same car parked up around the block. No other car types were parked up, just corvettes.

That's a fairly extreme example, but you're always more likely to see more of the same car you are driving. No-one knows why, but this bug/feature has been there since GTA3!

I'll try and add you tonight Sharpy if I can, I think my live tag is Mr.Delvis on there though, as some nub took Delvis
I had this problem, I was able to resolve it by lowering Textures to medium (I notice you have them set to high). I think the problem is that because I have a 1GB video card, that means that 1gig of my RAM can be swallowed just for textures, even before anything else is taken into consideration. Vista x64 generally wants at least a gig for itself plus background tasks, and then GTA4 will grab the remaining 2gig.
IMO GTA4 is the most demanding game on the market, for optimum performance you need a quadcore CPU and 6GB RAM (unless maybe you have a GPU with low VRAM, then 4GB might be enough).

Weirdest thing I've ever seen on steam just as I was trying to luanch GTA4. Said "Your files have a lot of high level fragmentation, This cab cuase long load times. Would you like steam to defrag your files?".

Can you guys add me. When I do friend request it won't let me search for people just brings up a list of people I've played with. My tag is MIKEYMCC.
It's handy sometimes, you can do it manually on all of the games I think.
