Operation Flashpoint 2-Dragon Rising.

First one single player was brilliant, I'll never forget when you're on your own in the woods once the plot started to develop. Excellent stuff.
 
Codemasters got a little more specific on the release date of Operation Flashpoint 2 this morning, telling VG247 the sequel will release this summer.

“Flashpoint is currently slated officially as ‘Summer 2009,’” said a rep, adding that the firm couldn’t be “any more precise than that right now.”

Me neither, I never got past that part :(
But I was young and impatient; maybe I'll reinstall it and have another play.

It's the bit where you need to go all the way back to a different rendezvous point isn't it? With all manner of hinds, tanks and ground troops after you. I found a jeep thing and tried to escape in that (as well as running through the forests), but I still got minced each time.

I never really got on with the individual missions either.
I think it was ex-ronin on these forums who was really gay for OFP? I tried a co-op mission or few with him, but I sucked and he got annoyed :)
 
Getting across the first stretch of open landscape was always tough but once you made it to the next forrest (south) you were more or less home and dry. Just had to make it across to the next forrest (going east) which could pop up a surprise here and there. It did take a fair few go's to complete it but it was do-able with a bit of careful timing.
 
OFP1 was the first FPS I played online. It was near impossible as I played with pings of around 350+ all the time. I was only young so didn't really know what I was doing either. I enjoyed the single player campaign though.
 
I haven't heard anything about this although it wouldn't surprise me considering how little we've seen of actual in-game footage until recently, and even that wasn't looking too impressive. We've seen virtually nothing compared to ArmA 2. As long as ArmA 2 is on time then I'll be happy.
 
I don't mean to troll at all, but i really didn't get on with the first game

I even tried going back to it about 3 times, a few years down the line

to me, it just seemed over fiddly and buggy



I guess I was just after more of a pick up and play type game

/shrug
 
dont get me started on ofp and arma best games ever well for me any ways.

ofp 2 looks good but heard its more for the console now :( control wise
arma is still looking good cant wait.
