Watching a DVD disables downloads. As pseudo said, you need to play a game in single player (not GTAIV tho as that still disables downloads)

IF you want to be certain, just fire up a game, go into the XMB and see if the download is paused. If not, you're fine.

I've been playing a AVI from my server and it was still downloading and I'm sure I've had the same thing with DVDs. Could be wrong tho

AVIs are fine as you can still access the XMB while playing em, DVDs completely disable the XMB and disconnect your PS3 from the net last i checked. When the PS3 first came out it did allow net access while playing a DVD but it caused stuttering issues when upscaling so they disabled it.

That was short, but awesome!!

Going up close to the enemies and shooting various parts of the body is fun

Intro is pretty close to the original CGI from yonks ago imo.
