The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Quick question unrelated to the current events of BoB, Is EVE-TV still going? I used to enjoy watching eve-tv streams of the tournament and all this eve talk has made me want to watch some eve-tv vids of the last few tournaments.

Also thinking of ASCN, reminds me of that ASCN vs BoB in a very old tournament where ASCN were too far from BoB to do damage, and although BoB could do damage at that range, and had ASCN webbed, they couldn't outdamage ASCNs tank. So after lots of whining about a boring battle it came down to a 1 v 1 interceptor battle (which BoB won, not realy a supprise considering the ASCN fitting).

Not me.

odd, eve-sheet must be broken then.

edit: Muffin, edit your posts man. Seriously :|

full alliance restoration as of Wed DT. <3 Devs.

That'll be interesting if the Devs do get involved to assist restoring the alliance. From what's been said so far, I only see valid game mechanics in play so I don't know why there should be any Dev involvement. I'd be very intrigued to know what you're hinting at.

Nah, it only updates when a skill completes or changes. My current skill has been running for a while so it's an old figure. Evemon displays the actual total.

Oh yes, while I remember. I'd already left ASCN by the time of the BoB war :p

I was talking complete tripe to keep in line with the thread. The GMs will investigate whether the claims that the account was hacked are valid, I'm sure the Devs will be keeping a keen eye on it but as ever keeping their distance from BoB in fear of pitch forks.

I'd not heard any claims that the account was hacked, but I guess it's always possible. Even if it was, there would need to be absolute solid proof for anything to be done and I don't know how practical that is. I've also read that the account was shared which would make it even more difficult to prove whether or not it was hacked.

I totally agree about the pitchfork thing, any signs of Devs or CCP assisting BoB in this can only be a bad thing.

Time I went to bed, but I'm sure you'll understand my final: "BoB. lol :D"

(remember that STK have suffered spies and huge thefts as well so although I giggle, I do have some idea how frustrating this can be, but in the end it is just a game, albeit one with very passionate and dedicated players)

Did anyone make the Disband of Brothers joke in here yet? Ahahaha

/waves at Feek, Jenk and whoever else is likely to be in here laughing their arses off atm :p

Nice, that realy got me laughing :)

So whats the general feeling going around the eve forums/irc at the moment? are people more in favour of BoB, or whoever caused all this to happen?

The question of whether or not the account was hacked is academic at this point. The fact that he's posting on various forums to confirm means that if he has been hacked its his email and lots of other things that have been compromised, so it'll take ages to be sorted out if that is the case.

He was in bootcamp for the military and is currently claiming to have no mic so it can't be confirmed if its actually him or not. Certainly is suspicious that he got all his high level access back recently while also claiming to have no mic but who knows tbh.

In the meantime we'll have to fight for Delve either way so its pretty irrelevant. Fun times ahead :D

So.. BoB space (a la the map on the previous page) is those 3 systems, presumably in 0,0... and it's now mostly been relinquished due to a.. clerical error within the corp? As a result, everybody is trying to get a slice of the pie.

BoB claim thievery/spies(lol)/espionage/intrigue
Everyone else claims BoB just cant hack it anymore

Am i on the right track?

And Goonswarm are the current favourites to mop up the leftovers? Tau Ceti look pretty massive, but seriously i did the tutorials and some level 2 missions two years ago and stopped, so i have no idea.

Well everyone loves to see such colossal arrogance getting a comedown, hence the general joviality, but I'd have preferred if it was just about anyone else besides the goons that managed it.

This is my take (could be wrong!):

Someone applied to join Goonswarm and failed a security test to join. He then claimed to have director status within BoB.
This was then proved to the Goons by legitimately or illlegitimately gaining access to the BoB Director forums and a BoB Director's eve online account.
These forums were then archived apparently, however BoB have released them voluntarily now.

The BoB Director (BNC Director) also had directorship within TinFoil, the executor corp to BoB Alliance. He then preceeded to kick all corps from the alliance, effectively disbanding and closing the alliance. Some rumours say that an alliance bill was not paid, meaning that BoB was disbanded accidentally but this is obviously not true. This was swiftly followed by stealing all of BNC corp's assets, and kicking its members.

As all Ex-BoB corps were now not in an alliance, all of the sovereignty in the regions of Delve and Querious was lost at the following downtime, stopping any production of capital and supercapital ships. This also meant that all stations became a level playground for conquering.

Losing the sovereignty also stopped all jump bridge networks and cyno jammer networks, which will take a month-3 months to replace due to the time gap needed for a system or constellation to progress into a higher sov level.

EDIT: With the way things normally play regarding BoB, its probably a giant masterplan to get people to fight on their doorstep whilst they end up with an even bigger victory vs their opponents somewhere further along the line.
