I use iTunes but I've got it minimized to RocketDock 90% of the time. The thing on the desktop is CDArtDisplay with the iSome skin. I love CDArtDisplay - being able to control iTunes (pause/skip etc) from the desktop and not having it in the way cluttering the screen is great.

CDArtDisplay supports Winamp and Foobar too iirc

If that skin works with winamp, I might ask you to marry me .
