Killzone 2 Demo - First impressions

Ahh thank god that's sorted then! Seeing as you don't see anything wrong i guess nobody else can. There is obvious input lag(to some people, me included) and people cannot get along with it. It's just how people are, not everyone plays a game the same as next person.

Yeah you're right I suppose, seen as I play this game standing on my head with one hand in a toaster, probably everyone isn't the same as me.

Oh come on, if you're gonna stand there like a twonk flicking your analog stick and moaning then there's no hope anyway. I remember having issues with COD4 in that small movements of the sticks weren't registered, but I put it down the the way ps3 controllers work and got on with enjoying the game.

Personally, I do not recognise this as a valid issue and will reiterate my point that there is way too much girly whining in this thread. Perhaps you should stick to Little Big Planet?

Edit: Actually, why am I even bothering to post? I don't care if you people are incapable of enjoying an excellent game! If you feel like making mountains out of mole hills then that's your problem. Enjoy KZ2 suckers!

I didn't have any issues with COD 4 controls. There is something wrong with you. Nobody on here is sitting there flicking there sticks, I noticed it whilst trying to aim at peoples heads. This might be acceptable for you but it isn't for me and a lot of other people. I'm not saying it's a bad game it's just the aiming doesn't suit my style of gameplay. You're the one who started the whinging, just because people wasn't getting on with the input lag

Too me it just feels like an attempt to add weight to the character so it feels more realistic. I would prefer it without the lag tbh but a lot of people seem to think a game should follow some sort of strict guidline for it to be deemed suitable. Its different.

This thread is over! :D

I'm going to have a few more goes of the demo. Going to jump on that flying troop transport thing.

dude before you do that, just a word of warning, I've done that myself a few times and and other stuff and it crashes my PS3 quite a lot, it's not too bad as long as you don't try going out of the map where all the gfx's start getting corrupt, it maybe fine on your system though.

Screw that then. I've had my PS3 since 2006. Not going to chance it. :)

I don't understand how input lag can be attributed to the feel of the game, that just doesn't make any sense.

You don't need to add input lag to add weight to a character, Ghost Recon on the Xbox didn't and the characters on that had weight and moved a lot slower than you do on Killzone 2.

The delay between the button press and on screen action doesn't add weight at all, the slower aiming and movement speed does that fine.

Even though it doesn't affect me really, and I'm happy to get used to the controls, and yes, I think that overall the 'weightier' feel is a slight improvement over other control methods, I still think the combined effect of any lag/weightier control system is not a good thing for many people..

The only valid reason that I agree with is for those people that regularly play difference FPS's online, depending on who they are playing, etc, etc.. In this case I 100% can understand the negative feeling towards KZ2, after I played the demo through about 5 times, and was quite 'happy' that I was getting used to it, just going back to COD 4 for a quick blast was quite painful..

TBH playing through it I never thought omg lag1, so maybe its me. It feels different, which too me feels more like character weight, I think its trying to be different, but obviously in views of a lot of people isnt succeeding. Ghost Recon was horrendous, felt like you were aiming with the d-pad.

This is simply lovely.. Great physics weight and atmosphere.. Control system clicked sraight away.. If this was multi platform I am pretty sure it would lead the market. Loving it!!

just played this. I like it. only thing i don;t like is the cover system seems a bit dodgy at times.

weird getting used to analogue sticks again though.

I found the cover system a nightmare at first but it becomes your best friend once I get used to it. I went through the entire demo without losing 1hp by using the cover to my advantage.

When i realized you 'pop over' cover by pressing the joystick towards it it all clicked. Then i was able to line up shots, pop up, pop their head and then duck back down in a second.
