I'm apparently cooking a french menu for the girlfriend at hers. She's been teasing me about a surprise trip to Paris that i've apparently booked (i havent), so since she's got some nice champagne and a box of Parisian-sounding chocolates i have to do the rest. Any ideas on a menu? I'm torn betwen French Onion soup or Moules to start. Steak frites is the obvious option for main but i cook that all the time

Personally, I couldn't give two ***** about Valentine's day, and i honestly find all the cards and little teddies blah blah blah well....crap.
What's wrong with showing the person you love affection all year round instead of saving it up for one crap, overrated celebration of an entirely commercialised day?
I have been told that..
1. it will make me laugh but its not necessarily funny..
2. last from friday afternoon - saturday afternoon
3. There are 5 stages
My GF does not like Valentine's day and neither do I to be honest!
I'm still going to get her these super hot swiss chocolate from our local place, so at least I can steal some . I'm guessing I'll cook her something not sure what yet, she works the next day anyway so we'll stay at home in front of TV probably.
Her birthday is the 21 feb anyways so I can show her my appreciation then.
