1920x1080 is available, you have to scroll right down. I'm not being patronising here as I missed it too the first time I tried setting it to this res. The tab to drag down to see all the resolutions is just quite small.

A few people have mentioned turning off streaming, what's this?

Never bothered with Crysis but thought I might have a dabble. Looks reasonable at £26.99 :)

I'm in the same situation myself, although i really didn't like farcry 2 and crysis also seems to be a bit of a love or hate game so i don't know if i should just leave it.

It's nothing like FarCry 2 whatsoever, not made by the same developers. FarCry 2 is one of the worst games I've ever played and Crysis is one of my favs.

Have just reinstalled Crysis, as i dont think i have played it fully since upgrading my OS and also GFX drivers.

Have to say that it seems to run pretty well at 2x AA with all settings on High. This is with an oc'd Q6600 and 3870x2, and even though the settings arent massively high it still looks very nice.

I don't know where you have learned to count, but the tech in my card was out on October 29, 2007, less than 1 and a half year ago... And don't tell me G80 is the same as G92...

You mean your 2007 card that performs about the same/worse than an 8800GTX? Which is coming up to 3 years of age.

and err, the G92 is based on some of the technology found in the G80, I could be wrong. (hey it's happened)

Finally, can you really say that when I upgrade to a gtx260 or hd4780, my game will run fine at 1920x1080, a res almost twice as big as the res I'm trying at the moment, on a card that only has about 60% (the gtx260 anyways) more power ?

Well my 8800GT ran Warhead quite well until the ice levels (20-25FPS) at 1920x1200, so a 260 should be fine really.

crysis warhead is win. plays fine on mine at 1920 x 1080 with 4xaa. Looks great and is a quality FPS. Although EA do have a tendancy to box games together not denying that. Might be due to their declining sales.

Why would that help

Err I have lost count of the number of times I have been playing music and browsing the web etc and it's screwed up an installation to a game. The last one was COD4, when you stood still all the textures were juddering and vibrating, I reinstalled and it fixed my texture problems.

Crysis is far better than far cry 2.

+1 No doubt.

i also get bad framerate drops on my new i7 rig with a 280 - and thats only on 1680-1050 with 2x aa. anyone knowhow to solve it? i see some benchmarks reporting a solid 30 fps with similar hardware.

there is nothing wrong with crysis other then a PC killer, but i love getting a new GFX and then compare how good my old one did compared to the new one, well 10 frames more is a good resualt :P
