ONLINE: xbox live 360 play

okay well last night a deep deep undercover session was in effect and the game is default to acept online chalenges when someone wants to play

and basicly it looks like people in japan have gotten the game early and of corse london and usa

and we played people we know, and people far away and the general thought was that the online code is worse then sf2 hd remix

its so bad that when you do fly hk, low mk > fireball, half the time u have missed the window to interupt the low mk.

i hope this gets patched soon as to me, its a joke considering you have to pay for xbox live and that only about 10 people was online last night

Very disappointing tbh :( If they are as slow fixing the game as they have been with SSF2HD Remix then the online could be quite poor :(

Normally I would say wait for retail release to judge, but it is all P2P Gaming and the final copy of the game so hard to know what could change :(

does any one know how id go about unlocking characters, namely akuma?. Loves me some akuma
List of unlocks (not confirmed)

Dan Beat Arcade Mode with Sakura.
Akuma Beat Arcade Mode with Cammy, Dan, Fei Long, Gen, Rose, Sakura and Seth.

annoying so much work to unlock my fave character Akuma :( In fact re-reading that it sounds like you need to clock teh game with every single character apart from Seth!

(ps3 trophies are the same as 360 achievements btw)

fighting games online in general have always been slow or suffering from lag. The internet just simply cannot keep up with reaction times that fighting games need, lol

Achievement slist looks nice, plenty to keep the GP hungry busy, look nicely spread too.
So easy mode to unlock all chars fastest then onto medium/hard/whatevers after that.

Normally like playin as Akuma, but gonna give gouken a good try out.
the online play should be interesting, see how well it plays, its not soundign too good ubt I hope they get the netcode at least reasonable to get some nice challenges running :)

OcUK tourny Im presuming?

I am a bit concerned about the online play but how can you judge it if you are playing randoms from Japan and USA as mentioned in rp2000' quote from another forum  Also the way that it is worded, "the online code is worse then sf2 hd remix." I don't personally find the HD Remix code bad, but then I stick to playing people with a sub 100 ping. Hopefully sticking to tah rule will be OK for SF4.

People have been playing against UK people (the game is leaked officially in UK and Japan). These are people from respected fighting sites and communities. They played local people and Japanese people.

It is well known the code for HD remix is quite bad, so much so Capcom have announced they are working on a major patch (which is usually quite rare for Arcade games, due to cost issues). Also you can only pick pings etc if you play friendly matches. For Ranked you cannot pick who you fight (not on PSN version anyway). So many times I have played ranked against people I know I am better than but have been beaten by the lag :( (Obviously this problem is slightly worse on PS3 as the game is not out in EU so I am getting USA players, mainly, on ranked).

The big fear is that in this version you can play 1P and anyone can interrupt your game ala arcade when they stick in a 50p and "Here comes a New Challenger!). Sounds like fun, but won;t be if you are playing a lagless game against CPU, get interrupted to play a lagfest against some random joe :)

Maybe it won't be that bad, but if people say it is not great now, it will only be worse when more people are online (or the same, but not better :) )

Things like this annoy me as the game went Gold a while back and they been sitting around thinking up expensive DLC rather than preparing a day 0 patch etc (which some companies have done this gen).

Anyway rant over. I was going over a lot of SF4 reading last night and came across these. Keep an eye on SRK and NeoEmpire forums (and maybe Capcom forums).

you can disable that option so no-one interrupts your single player game if you want

Those of you that shopped to/from a certain online retailer will be happy to know that their TE order is secured, a shop representative confirmed today that they only allowed orders against their allocation and to "expect a SF4 review over the weekend".

(I guess that means those that ordered will get them definitely on the 20th?)

I thought it was too good to be true. After contacting a store's customer services with a question about the Xbox 360 TE stick I pre-ordered from them a few days ago, I got a reply back today. Apparently there was an error with their stock system and I shouldn't have been able to pre-order it. :(

Ah well. The hunt continues! I still have my order for the stick at £99.99 on another site but the page says it was unavailable when I ordered it. I might just keep that now and wait for them to get it back in.

Theres a Street Fighter 4 TE Stick on Ebay.co.uk - Already £140 with 5 days left....

LAME..

quite funny to see people whos gonna pay over the top so they can get it, But there making new TE sticks which will come out soon..
Sellers market to be honest.

Unlike say, the Wii, where it's just a shortage being exploited - these things actually are a limited edition (unless MadCatz say otherwise) and are sold out pretty much everywhere - aside from the unscrupulous places still taking orders against an non-guaranteed allocation, etc.

There is an option to turn this off, infact the game makes a bit of a deal out of it. It is off by default

Question.

Is the story in SF4 told in anime shorts between each fight?

When playing arcade there is a little anime short at the beginning and at the very end. When you meet your 'rival' , so Ryu meeting Sagat, there is a little in game animation of them chatting

Incidentally if anyone has a spare PS3 TE stick pre-order that they end up getting on/around release date and are altruistic enough to sell to a fellow forum member instead of scalping on the auction house I'd definitely buy it.... at the moment it looks like I won't be getting mine any time soon. :(
