any good snooker games on pc?

i fancy playing a snooker game so i wanted to know if there are any decent ones out on pc? :confused:

iSnooker? There is a 14 day trial. I remember it being quite good many years ago, I never bought it after the trial though, I was/am rubbish.

think one of the virtual pool games had a snooker option. The control on VP still beats anything else I've tried.....

Shame the latest one never got finished.

WSC Real Snooker is due for PC early April.

Also, Virtual Pool 3 has a great snooker section. This game has the most realistic ball physics of any snooker/pool game imo. The control system also works beautifully. Includes online play and supports high/widescreen resolutions.

Both Virtual Pool Hall and Virtual Pool 3 have it. Probably the best simulators out there but could do with an update.

This is the BEST Snooker game - EVER.

Great online play which just works.

I fail to see how WSC Real Snooker will beat this.

Just watched a Youtube video of Snooker using Virtual Pool 3. Was disappointing. They never bothered to change the white ball, which had a spot, and they used the Pool sound effects. The table was not a Snooker table either. These things might not bother all but I wouldn't get this game for the Snooker but go for a dedicated game.

there is a Virtual Snooker which is a dedicated snooker sim but don't know how easy it is to get hold of these days.

Your assumption based on a youtube video is wildly inaccurate. I assume you have not played the game?

You can play any game on any table, but there is a dedicated snooker room within the game, with a full size table and with no dot on the white ball. You can even adjust the pocket sizes and rail speeds to suit your level. No dedicated snooker game currently available even comes close imo.

As for the video, clearly someone has decided to set up a snooker game in the pool hall.

Yes must admit that the Virtual Pool games are the best Snooker / Pool / 9-Ball / Billiards, etc. there is on the PC. Jimmy Whites Cueball was good but getting it to run on Vista is a nightmare.

It's also great to have a quick whizz with (reaches for the Virtual Pool CD).

Yeah fair enough. I've checked some other videos and I see there is a dedicated snooker room. Don't like that tables (closed pockets) but that may be an option and I suppose could be considered of secondary importance.

The spot on the ball seems to be the srike point that strangly seemed to remain during the shot animation. Maybe that's an option.

The sound though did sound like snooker and not pool.

I'm looking for a snooker game but I think I'll wait to see what WSC Real Snooker is like. The GFX look great but not sure how much of a simulation it's going to be.

Done a bit more research and I think you're right. I think I'm guilty of being to concerned about VP3 being a Pool game with a Snooker option.
