Any EX Evesham Technology customer or Employee's here

My parents bought thier old computer from them, 1Ghz thing, it doesn't work anymore. Thier replacement came from none other than OCUK since they began selling ready made machines, I installed thier old copy of XP, sorted :)

Not very suprised they have gone but they wern't bad when they were around, we had the on site technician out on warranty a few times and they were allways helpful :)

EDIT, almost forgot, my own old machine came from there too! I first changed case then basically changed everything in the name of upgrading! Still have original soundcard and floppy drive I think. Again, served me well. The strange Radeon 9250 card had no fan and burnt out, but when they replaced it they fitted a 9600 so that was good :)

Good to hear a few are, I only worked there for 4 years part time whilst I was at university, good times, I remeber we were one of the first to sell and test nvidia SLI systems, and that was an experience I remeber doing that. The Evesham name was purchased by the people (not what id call them) that gave false hope of a rescue and they are using it for their brand, basically its tiny/time

Doesn't really surprise me. A monkey can assemble computer components into a solid package so it can be done comparatively better in Asia. Plus I'm guessing in the last few years computer sales have dropped massively as basically everyone has one now and they tend to last most people about 10 years.

They should have tapped into a niche market like OCUK. I hope it doesn't offend anyone here but in my view, OCUK is more of a hobby company than a mainstream computer manufacturer.

Well saying that we did a lot of high end gaming machines we had contracts with Nvidia and released tri sli systems in mainstream market as well. It wasnt the PC side that killed it, it was other things but what can be done. You have to wonder where is the business going, dell's last report doesnt seem brilliant and I know for instance the county council I work for have dropped dell and gone with a local company for all its PC's because of low build quality, so maybe price isnt always winning now :)

My girlfriend spent about a grand on a desktop replacement laptop literally 3 days before they went into administration. Luckily nothing went wrong with it

Remember buying a bargain cd drive from them for 20 quid, unfortunately it wasnt ide hence the bargain required me to spend another 20 quid for an adapter card to actually use the drive, not bargain. doh

Interestingly, they wrote to me 18 months ago asking if I would sell to them as they'd heard we were in trouble. Laughable really.

Had one with an Athlon 850Mhz IIRC. I must admit, they were one of the better system builders out there. Support was very good. Sad to see them go really.

I must say, I worked in support and we had some extremely knowledgeable people in our team, not like some of the plonkers you speak to now. I think the IT market is taking a turn at the moment, more and more I see people steering away from the cheaper prices and going for support or maybe thats just me, but I have many people who have steered away from the 299 tesco special and gone for something a little more upmarket

i had an oly k7 athlon from them, great machine until i dropped a screwdriver onto the mobo whilst it was running, prompting my first self build!
