Had a Logitech Rumblepad for a few years and recently bought a 360 pad to go along with it. Sold it shortly after, horrible to use in comparison.

360 pad. Rumblepad's far more comfortable to use imo.
Shock horror! Richdog arguing thats someone elses opinion is wrongIf you think a PS2 pad is better than a 360 then you're mad. Not only is the 360 about 10x more ergonomic and comfortable in the hands (seriously it's proven, and it's won awards for it), but the functionality/quality is also much better. Overall it's a MILES better purchase... i've used both for my PC for quite a while

No it's not, it's way too big & built for big (handed) people, the ps2 and ps3 pads fit much more nicely in my hand. For small people like me the 360 pad is terrible.

My opinion is just my opinion, and just because I say someone else is wrong doesn't mean they actually are. People on forums have different opinions, and mine is no better than anyone elses. I'm tenacious, but less so than many on here, and I generally always hold my hands up and apologise when i'm wrong. So it's not all bad.

how small are you then? my GF prefers the 360 pad. shes 5 foot 1.
I'm about 1 Metre 60 I think, weighing 50 kg's.
This controller is awesome imo, just should have higher quality analogs ( smaller deadzones) and trigger accelerators instead of just R1 and R2 and L1 and L2 buttons, I mean L2 and R2 should be one of the throttle buttons like in the ps3 pads and I'd be happy.

PS2 pad with a converter. Best Dpad available these days
I find the d-pad on official ps2 pad to be horrible, even more so if you want to play 2d style fighters
i use 2 joypads, for anything 3d the 360 pad is the best around imo. but as has been said already the dpad is awful, so i use a sega saturn usb controller for anything 2d, really great dpad and awesome for 2d fighters. search for "sega usb controller" on an auction site if you want to find one

What would you recommend over it?
I've not tried the Saturn pad so I can't comment on that but there's nothing else I've used that is close to as good.

saturn usb pad, i use one for all my mame and 2d fighter needs. Its regarded by many as best pad around for 2d fighters

I'll have to try it out. I've always steered clear as I hated the 6-button megadrive pad. I presume it's quite different?

what did you not like about the 6 button megadrive pad. I used to have one back in the day and liked it but cant really remember much about it now. But from looking at google it seems quite similar to the saturn pad.

The Saturn pad is just a minor refinement of the 6-button MegaDrive pad. If you didn't like that then I guess you would not like the Saturn pad then. Perhaps go for a third party brand, if you can even find any!
