Which small dog?

Border Terrier :D
If I could have a dog and I was going for a small one this is what I would get. Hardy little dogs, affectionate and obedient.

Pug™ - Official dog of the intarnets.

Excellent family pets. Buy one, and if you don't like it, I'll happily take it off you. :D

We had a Cairn terrier when I was young, but they're a lot of work. Lots of exercise and they shed their outer coat every year in addition to normal shedding and need the right grooming for that. They're also a bit territorial and need good training. Lovely dog, though, and a nice stocky small dog. Not a yappy handbag dog - they weigh about a stone.

yay for the Minature Schnauzer.
Here's Jake at a 10 weeks old.
Good dogs in that they dont shed fur.

get a cocker spaniel, mine is mad but she loves kids and is a big softie, she will take the kids sitting on her and messing around and wont even try to bite them, shes great family dog, but is a sandwich short of a picnic when it comes to her brain power.

Couldnt recommend them enough, just make sure you look at proper registered ones with eye certificates on the parents as they can have problems later in life

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

We've had our two almost a year now and they're brilliant little dogs. Loving, cuddly, playful, gentle and certainly not your average yappy small breed... pretty much everything you'd want from a small family dog.

Currently uploading a video to YouTube of ours at the moment - Will post a link when it's done.

Patterdale Terrier. Really good looking dogs, stocky and wipe clean :D
These look pretty cool, will research them a bit more, thanks for the suggestion

I'd recommend a German Spitz mittle or klein. We have one and he's brilliant.

This is him at 8 weeks
