There's always that other place at £99ish but it on won't be on release day for sure since it will be their second round of pre-orders.
Got a pre-order there already, assuming its the site beginning with P and ending with T.

My gut feeling based on a laymans understanding of commerce is that most if not all companies don't know the particulars of whether they can actually get stock of a given item until they try and order stock.

In other words they'll just get a code on their system to order, perhaps a vague expectation of available units (or in some cases an actual allocation) and will work with that. Most other places, particularly if you end up talking to someone who just sees whatever it is you're hyped about as "random stock item #1234" will just say "it should be available" because - 99% of the time it would be.

I think a lot of people - including myself most likely - are going to be very disappointed about the available units in the UK come 20th. Of all the places it is or has been possible to order the sticks from - the proper MadCatz store is the only place I know that have categorically stated that they will be shipping this week, but even they have not mentioned numbers.

There are a number of places that are still taking pre-orders for these and I simply cannot believe all of those pre-orders can be satisfied. I imagine quite a few stores will try and put in an order with MadCatz to find that they can't have any at all.

That's my gut feeling as well too. Considering that when I pre-ordered the thing in the store I made sure I asked more than one person whether they were getting any in and both people said a definite yes. Obviously that was not the case so I'm a bit sceptical when anyone ever guarantees these for release. It won't stop me trying to get hold of one though!

And re the other site suddenly having stock of all the peripherals. I don't think I can risk the possibility of being billed for three sticks at once so will give it a miss. Hopefully my order from the big store will come good this week and my order will come good at £99.99 as well soon. Then if that does all happen I can return the stick I paid for at the cheaper price with the other place I ordered from and get a full RRP refund!

Well looking at the auction house they are still going for well over £200 so it's not too big a gamble. I'm not interested in scalping so as long as I can a) get a stick on release date and b) not lose money I'll be happy.

Because I don't like sitting about and doing nothing, I decided to ring up the number I received again just now. I originally questioned that I hadn't received an order confirmation email. The person I spoke to wasn't sure why I hadn't got it yet so he went off to speak to his supervisor. After a short wait I was told that I am apparently fourth in the queue for the extra stock they are receiving! Apparently all the stock for their web orders have been allocated and they are receiving extra stock on top of that but they don't know how much extra stock yet. He said they will send me a confirmation email on Thursday. I'm guessing seeing as there are so few people in line for this extra stock that they are only allowing people to make orders for it if you were allowed to make an in store pre-order in error and received the email.

He couldn't confirm that I would definitely get one, but said he thought it was very likely!

I guess they are trying to get hold of all the extra stock they can and when they know the numbers, they will release them for order on their website.

Either way I'm feeling a little bit more confident now. I suppose I better get around to ordering the game as well too. Would be a bit silly to have the stick and no game to play with it! :D

Don't really wanna rain on your parade too much but imagine how many places are/have taken pre-orders & phone calls for these, how many of them figure they'll get extra stock, and how many actual units there is likely to be available. My guess is those numbers don't add up and a number of places will only get their allocation (assuming they even had one), or less, definitely not more.

I could be wrong though and MadCatz could've been cranking up the production on these hardcore and have enough for everyone but I seriously doubt it.

Fingers crossed for you though. :)

I'm just surprised that so many people are willing to spend so much when I presume all but the most serious players will not notice the difference?

Please correct me if this is wrong as I have purchased the cheaper stick expecting not to be able to tell the difference :p

Well previously when there have been stock shortages like this (Xbox 360, Wii etc), this place has always been the company to get hold of the most stock. And the fact that I am 4th in the queue for the extra stock in the whole extra allocation they are receiving (well that's what I'm told anyway) means it is looking as good as it could get.

I know what you mean though. I have everything crossed but I will try and stay positive as the hype machine has well and truly got me in its grasp and I really want one! :p

im starting to wish i pre ordered the TE stick now... just hope they make more :(

The TE stick, non-TE stick and pads are now in stock and "Usually dispatched within 24 hours".

They're all at full RRP but for those missed out on all the other TE pre-orders then this might be worth a shot if you've got £150 to burn and don't want to pay bay-of-pigs prices :)

genuine sanwa parts. guessit depends on howmuch you're likey to play, but if you think it'll be a lot then you'll definately notice the higher quality when it comes to durability and responsiveness

If these are as moddable as Markman says they are should be able to get the same stick and sanwa buttons and just swap them over giving you same controls but for less cash only difference is the shape of the stick its self which if personal prefference anyways (probabily lots of other difference but where the important stuff is the button and sticks they will be the same

stick and 8 buttons same as in the te will set you back about £30 + postage

Gonna order one of the standards and check if so ill order the standard mod it as i prefer a smaller base anyway and save £50

Its worth the money in the long run imo as mentioned has nice parts, is easy to mod due to the design so if a button breaks its easy to fix, and also will work on pc so can use it for mame etc, should last for ages.

To date, I have not had 1 item ever NOT appear the next day after the SMS. The SMS is sent late, quite often.

Edit: Just spoke to a man who knows and they are just packed, they will be posted tomorrow, so the SMS is early (I guess) and shouldn't expect game till Wednesday.
