£60 a tyre isn't exactly breaking the bank now is it

Mine are 185/55/14 and yes they are Sport Contacts, however I was bending the truth slightly, the previous owner of the car paid £60, not meHowever they will be replaced with equivalent tyres and I have not problem with spending £60+ for good quality tyres.
Oh sorry there Fox.
Did I dare post something you disagreed with?
People have different interests and tastes. They may be able to tell the difference between two different brands of caviar, but to you it could be all the same!My co-workers seem to fall into this bracket, they can't understand why I paid £120 for a pair of continentals when they can buy £25 tyres which are "just as good".
are you sure?

That list is for Sport Contact 3 Tyres, I have Sport Contacts so they are quite old but the last owner hardly drove the car which explains why they look nearly new.
I know what tyres I have on my car, I'm not completely ignorant and stupid. I can always take a picture if you're not happy.
its ok, i can live without thanks. im sorting out new tyres for the gfs fester at the weekend. theyve been on since new, the fronts are at the markers now, the rears are ok (tread wise) but being old (its an 05 car) theyre starting to perish. the tyres are nasty anyway, so 4 brand new ones are going on
hers wants 195/50/15, no sportcontacts in that size boooo
I sort of agree. There's probably tests showing Primark clothes to be vastly interior to Armani, tests showing that Bowers & Wilkins audio is superior to Alba, tests showing that the paint quality of a Fiesta is lower than that of a Rolls-Royce Phantom, tests showing that Iceland chicken nuggets are less healthy than François Sudreau truffled duck fois gras. However, it doesn't detract from the fact that in some people's priorities, having the best of certain things, regardless of the consequence of not, is unimportant.Hmm maybe when choosing between goodyears and conti's, but when comparing Contis to cheap no name Polish tyres there's a massive difference. The tests in AutoCar and all the other mags clearly show that cheap tyres are vastly inferior.

The oil the original poster asked about is also not on the "approved list" - however does still "Meet the Requirements".
It's Comma who make oil for Halfords BTW.

That list is for Sport Contact 3 but tyres are pretty important and I do lots of driving on country roads so I don't really fancy under steering into a tree in the wet or Aquaplaning along the motorway at 70 for the sake of a few quid.
all tyres have to conform to a basic safety standard, i highly doubt you will make much more use out of premium tyres in your fiesta than a set of economy tyres...
