simple fun doesn't get much better than this.
Simple fun is not a car which requires constant repairs and rebuilds. It's an N reg car FFS and he's stripping it down to rebuild it, pathetic.

They are ok cars for having as a weekend project, or as a new driver as they are cheaper to insure. They are also very easy to find parts for and to add modifications to. Also they are an iconic car, so why shouldnt they be on the road
Unless of course you are talking about the BMW minis... in which case they have no purpose on the roads today![]()
whats 'pathetic' about it?
What? It's a drivers car and a total hoot to drive at it. So what if it's been surpassed by technology, simple fun doesn't get much better than this.
I think that they are hilarious to drive, more fun at lower speeds than anything I've driven.

Besides, if they enjoy doing it, great, but it stops being simple fun.
its daft to compare such a hobby car to a normal car from 96,
Predictable.[TW]Fox;13517252 said:Simple fun is not a car which requires constant repairs and rebuilds. It's an N reg car FFS and he's stripping it down to rebuild it, pathetic.
On those grounds a 106 and a 205 are better cars than my Anglia but I know which one I'd rather have.So what do they do better than say a 106 rallye? or a 205 xs? Both are very basic cars than can be fettled with by an enthusiast, good to drive, more comfortable and reliable than a mini, more refinedand they don't fall apart at the sight of a puddle.
No, but people knew they were buying a 30 year old design[TW]Fox;13517625 said:Why, in 1996 was the Mini Sidewalk sold from the showroom as a 'hobby car'?
the swift conversions usually do produce 120ish bhp the engine standard might not but the kits out there doand the re-bore option ,head, cam, pistons ect gets you about the same bhp im a bit rusty with the stats it might be a bit less but i'v seen many amounts of uprated blocks and conversions makes the mini fast as fcuk down the strip or on a track...
Predictable.

A Mini drives like a cross between go-kart and a dodgem. If you've ever driven one you'd know what I mean. I don't think anything comes close, 106's definitely don't.
They dont i can assure you.
a lot more is involved in produceing 120bhp form an a-series.
My 1293 produces 118 bhp. i can list everything that has been done to it if you wish.
(i know because i sit them down most mornings in the rush hour.)
It so doesn't. It's just any other shopping car.106 rallye/gti > any old rusty mini in being fun to drive.
