Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

What's the console of choice for this game then?

I'm swaying more towards PS3 due to the D-Pad.
If you are just gonna play on a controller (i.e. don't have stick for 360 or PS3) I would go for the PS3 as it has a much better d-pad (proven on previous beat-em ups).

Having said that, the single player in beat-em up games is paltry so you will spend most of your time playing online multiplayer or offline multiplayer so bear that in mind. No point in having a greta controller if there is no-one you want to play on PS3 :)
:(

just realised what happened to the replay/save function :hmm:
Had a few rounds with v0id earlier and some of em were quite entertaining, nuthin better than missing 2 ultras in a row, only to be ultra'd to death :(
I think I read they will be added in the "Championship" free DLC coming soon(ish), as well as the option to upload them.

Well what a waste of time that was. The big high street stores had nothing. The independents I found in the Yellow Pages were equally rubbish. None of them would answer their phones. I had to walk about 20 mins to get to one and when I got there it was shut. Even if it was open I don't think it would have mattered as the shop window had a Saturn, a Megadrive and a N64 in it which looked like they had been there for years as all the boxes had faded! I looked through the window and it looks like they only sell retro stuff anyway.

In the end I resorted to searching for video game shops in the Yellow pages near where I work and calling them all. Quite a few when you work in London! I got excited when I called one guy and he said yes. But like you Margret after a few more questions they were actually talking about the game instead.

On the plus side though, the order I did over the phone seems to have gone through now as I had a confirmation email waiting for me in my inbox when I got to work. It's in the your order is held for credit checking stage at the moment which can only be good as they don't normally charge until they are ready to dispatch their items!

The dpad is terrible on the 360 pad, works fine using the analogue stick though in SF4.

Still, not a patch on a proper joystick.

Ideally I'd like the game on both systems as I really wanna give RP a fight :p But I'm not buying another joystick!

Happy Days :)
Just the faceplate & Skinz left now.

Good games Dailygeek and streeteh. :D

Dude you can't claim you're rubbish at the game and then unleash some form of super cutscene make-you-die-twice super move! :p

There seems to be a trend of people claiming they're rubbish too despite me saying i haven't played since the megadrive games only to be met with insane special moves that i don't have a clue how to do. That's the third time its happened, one of the guys even had the audacity to message me saying 'ha ha you got owned!', no faeces Sherlock! I haven't played the game in 10 years!

(not having a rant at you rob, at least i actually managed to beat you once! :D The other two guys were just stupidly good despite claiming they were rubbish and then gloated which i'm ashamed to say got under my skin)

I did worry online would be like this... i guess i need to practice.

Other than that, the game i had with a mate of similar skill level was great fun! Also, the netcode is flawless

Yesterday I was playing with the analogue stick which seems to be ok. Most of my playtime was spent playing with Ryu and I can do most of his specials fine. I had a bit of trouble with his dragon punch, but I don't know whether that’s just me or the controller. One thing I did have a real problem with though was fast combos on the pad. I just could not press the buttons quick enough most of the time. This was mostly a problem with the trigger buttons. If I have to continue with the controller, I may move both heavy punch and kick to the side buttons and move the all kicks and punches buttons on to the triggers.

I suspect anyone wanting to use the controller could get used to it, but it’s far from ideal.

My PS3 verison just arrived..robert1986 prepare to die :p actually sack that i have an exam tomorrow have to resist temptation!

You got the PS3 version Streeteh?

If so I'll give you a few games cause I am actually rubbish. I bought the game today and was reading through the manual thinking what they hell are they talking about.

I can only pull off every 3rd dragon punch I try, I'm probably shafted now they've made you use 2 buttons at the same time to throw and I don't know any combos at all.

I'd like a comparativley crap player to practice with but you might not actually be as bad as me.:D

Im coming for you ;) - btw youll find the invite system in this SOO much better than the RE5 one we were using (it works! :p)...

I swear though Ive played say 10mins of Alpha Anth in the last decade if that - give me a shout as I was helping Jonny_no2 get the moves down with a more intelligent dummy than the training mode yeterday...

ps3ud0

I think i need to amputate my thumb, a fightstick is looking very appealing right now. I've come to the conclusion a pad doesn't put you at a drastic disadvantage but it certainly does damage to you hand.

gg robert lol only went on practise mode for 5 mins then played you. Is quite a lot different from HD Remix. Thats enough for me now tho will be on from sunday onwards! awesome game.
