Ah hell

Is that Company redundancy pay?
Statatuory Redundancy Pay, you'll only get 4 weeks

Company, so the extra 2 weeks are a grain of sugar in the bitter coffee of it all :p

Thanks guys, I guess it could be seen as the kick up the backside I need to get a better job with more pay, but the climate isn't great for job-hunting, and my manager and senior manager are SO awesome, I'm gutted to be losing them :(

Likewise matey.

I loved my last job, and the people I worked with...it wasn't a job as such, it was just enjoyment doing what I love doing. However I was stuck in a rut, and money wasn't ever going to go up.

I've found a new job now, sadly the pay is 'less'...although it's better than what I've been on for the past 3 months, which is nothing :p...And the commute is longer, but hey...what can you do. :)

Unlucky, The start of your OP sounded amaizing :(

If tooting gets too expensive you could move to Morden :p:p:p

Good luck searching for a new job, just get yourself out tehre as much as possible, hassle agencies constantly if you go that route too !!!!

I was made redundant in October, it's a pain in the arse. Luckily I'm not a heavy spender and was able to live my life as I normally would, started my new job in January and I absolutely love it, there's light at the end of the tunnel mate!

Whoah, looks like someone in the IT department has had a bit of a melt-down, lol!

Hello There,

Trust this mail finds you best of health and finest of spirits.

You know how things were yesterday and for me personally yesterday was not of the finest days of my life either. The canteen meetings, the corridor meetings…etc.. Etc..

But something magical happened in the later part of the day that has added value in my life and so I just wanted to share some of experience with you. Trust that is okay with you.

Yesterday in the later half of the day I came across this amazing book called 'Who Moved My Cheese' by Spencer Johnson. I finished this book in couple of hours which indicates its not big read.

I know some of you might have read this book before but I would stress to read it again. Simple reason being now you have changed, environment around you has changed and hence your perspective have changed. Hence re-read is order of the day.

I know of some people who have decorated this book as a piece of jewellery but have not read it. I really don’t know what to tell them.

Some people may feel reading is not my cup of tea….

There is one thing I can guarantee once you read it. It will benefit you a lot.

I know after reading my mail there is a high probability of having different reactions.

Some may ignore this mail, some may think I have gone mad, some of them will give me that kind of a smile when I meet them which one wouldn’t like to see.. [ you know what I mean :)))) ]and some may etc. etc…

Bottom line is I don’t care how would you react to me or what comments you may have for me.
All I know is that I know of many people but still I chose to send this mail to you for a simple reason. The reason being you are my good friend and I always and always want great things for you and your family. Hence my suggestion would be do whatever you want to but don’t miss reading this book. I cant stretch enough the importance of this book.

With That Note I will sign off my friend.

Unlucky with the job situation kroot's. At least while you're un-employed you can sit around in your house/flat all day in your cacks and playing computer games (L4D) whilst "looking for a job" :D

Haha! :p

Well, I don't plan to not have a job to go in to, I have 3 months to find a new one, and I'd sooner take a crap job stacking shelves than go on the dole.

I finish at the end of March, however our redundancy was a touch more generous and I have been here for quite a few years so the package is pretty good. So I will be taking a month off and then getting my MS certs up to date and then back to job hunting. (And yes while I am looking for work I will be claiming JSA or whatever it is called, they have had enough of my money that I am not shy of taking some of it back).

Just remember when at an interview that you are also interviewing them to see if you want to work there and that "my role was made redundant, however it has come as an excellent opportunity to seek out new challanges". :D

Don't blame you for taking the JSA, no harm in not doing so.

Just be prepared to go back there every two weeks with a little book thing stating what you have done for the past two weeks :p

Shouldn't be hard, it is just good practice anyway to keep a record of whom you have sent stuff to, which CV you used etc anyway so the information will be readily to hand.
