Lost Planet £3.49 on Steam Weekend Deal 27/02 to 01/03/09

Full game is a bargain @ £3.50 for sure. Colonies Edition is the one to really get though as it has LIVE enabled for Achievements and also Cross platform play against 360 players, then you also get additional content like new weapons & skins as well as all the 360 paid for DLC & Core2Duo + I7 support for proper multicore as well as perfect scaling for multi GPU setups (Intel say its up to 80% faster on I7 than Q2D). Just a very well optimised arcade blaster with some great ingame engine cutscenes but still a very good game.

I played the demo. I was not impressed.

WHY are the control prompts still Xbox control icons? Why do the menu's look horrific, even at 1440x900?

Please tell me this isn't included in the full game :(. I've been wanting to try a weekend deal game for a while now but judging by this effort i'm going to wait till next weeks.

its true game is crap

however i do wish game devs stop using SSE2 just to be annoying to althon xp range cpus

my old rig can still run new games pretty well

For all those that can't do 1680x1050 your problem might be that your refresh rate is too high for that resolution. At defualt it is at 75Hz and I had to put it down to 60Hz to get 1680x1050. There is an option for refresh rate on the menu so you don't have to do it through the drivers.

In the full version, all the smaller button prompts have both keyboard and pad buttons shown, but when the big prompts come up (like getting into a VS, and it shows you the controls) there all shown as a 360 pad. Lame i know, but try not to let it affect you its a good game underneath the 360 crap :).

From looking on wikipedia, it seems that the DX10 enhancments and extra maps have been patched in, but only downloaded via steam. Who knows.
