what is delayed local actually??

You warp into a system but you don't appear on local channel for a set number of mins / hours?
 
I was thinking the same.. What's the point of having cloak if you pop up on local the moment you enter ???
Would be better if you could go in for a snoop undetected (unless there was someone probing or whatever it is you have to do) for a set length of time before having to bug out or risk getting caught.

Edit, I am still half asleep, after re- reading the above posts I think it does work as it should do. DOH !

Well I've rejoined and now have a skill training.

However...it all still looks the same, I thought there was a massive graphics upgrade...I'm on the Mac client btw...please tell me its available :(
 
You need the windows client for the new graphics.

Tried the mac client on my MPB, didnt feel right plus it was a tad buggy. So i just have to run it in boot camp.

That's one of the harsh realities of Eve and why it's so great as well. When something goes *pop*, it really does go *pop*
 
Someone said to me: Never fly something in EVE that you cant afford to replace.

Now, i only do level 2 missions so i have NFI what it's like to lose a ship (although i lost my kestrel a couple of times through learning to play). But i guess it really teaches you to not get over excited about jumping in to that new ship straight away! Kinda the same reason i'm not using my Drake yet. I know it's only a Drake but it's good practice for the Rokh i'm saving up for :D Just want to make sure all my skills are top notch before i venture out :)

Kinda bored with Eve at the moment, hoping wormholes will reinvigorate my interest.

That said the whole brouhaha with GoonSwarm vs KenZoku is interesting to read about. I can't quite decide if I would want to be a part of that (on either side) or not, seems to be a lot of antagonism from GS towards KZ, years of pent-up frustration being released?

As far as I can understand it BoB have owned Delve for years with no one making any kind of inroads to it, then someone defects and destabilises the whole region - yet it seems to be a really sore topic if anyone brings up the fact that it was principally this one mans actions that led to what is happening now.

I don't know who I should be rooting for :D I guess as I have a SA sub it should be GS :)
 
i just cant get into the game, too much to do, and having to wait 20 days for a skill is just plainly silly! what can i do in between but repetitive low level mission. :/
 
PVP? Watch TV? Go out?

The whole point of EVE being more interactive with life unlike other MMO's is that you can progress without being glued to teh screen for 14 hours a day.

Of course, it IS a slow game, and i dropped it a couple of times because floating around between wrecks at 150m/s over a huge area was boring. Now my outlook towards gaming has changed

I run EVE and CSS at the same time, and just alt-tab between them :)
