basically just change your download location to East coast US or something. Servers there shouldn't be being hammered. Worked well when DoW2 came out.

In Steam go to settings at the bottom --> Downloads --> Change Download Region to US East Coast --> Restart Steam

Got me from 300k/sec to 1.2MB/sec

However Steam seems to be having some problems so you may not be able to get back in...

I paid £49.99 for the full megapack (all games), the lack of disc doesn't bother me.

This is pretty disappointing in my opinion, no pre-load (which was supposed to be 48 hours in advance) and I've just got in from work and the steam servers are clearly getting hammered, won't let me start downloading it, and keeps spitting me out saying my steam ticket has expired whenever I try to start the download...

Have tried changing the download region, no joy.

Anyone got any ideas other than try again later?
