diet tips

probably just water loss.
I also started a diet last week and have not really done any exercise but am starting this week.
I used to eat really bad but now, I am eating more fruit and have cut out sweets, crisps, fizzy drinks and chocolate (just bad stuff basically).
I am eating breakfast (weetabix) in the mornings now where before, I never had a breakfast.
I am still eating my normal dinner's and will cut them down/out in the next few weeks.
I have been drinking at least 2litres of water per day and I've lost 4lbs in 5 days. Am chuffed to bits.

drink ice cold water, exercise of some sort, dont eat fatty foods.

Could try taking up a hobby/sport even if its not something like football. Try jump-rope, 15 mins a day and the flab will fall off

This is my routine as of right now, wakeup at 9am have a piece of toast (dry) gets the metabolism going, nettle tea and a vitamin/mineral pill.
I have nettle tea through out the day or when ever i feel hungry plus it helps greatly with shifting excess fluid and hydrating your skin.

At 4pm i have a meal consisting of either fish, chicken or turkey ((grilled)) with some salad ((no garnish at all apart from maybe pepper and garlic)) and then at 6pm i do 1 hour on a lateral thing stepper which works thighs, calves, back, hips and stomach, rest for 2 hours then i use a slendertone abs belt which tones my abdominal muscles, have some more nettle tea and then go to bed, rinse and repeat for 2 months.

Ive been doing it now for roughly 2 weeks and i have dropped 3 pants sizes ((which im chuffed about)) and i feel the best i have ever felt, i have posted my eating plan further up the thread and i highly recommend it to anyone wanting to shift excess pounds and has always had trouble doing so in a healthy way.

you have dropped 6" off your waste in 2 weeks?

Quite a bit of it was water loss as i was eating stuff i was allergic to and didnt even know it so i ballooned, but apart from the weater loss i have lost quite a bit and plan to keep going until im happy :D

This is the only answer you need. It is very simple,

Its too simple :o If someone asked how they can become rich, telling them they need to spend less money than they bring in is correct but way too simplistic..Just like the calorie thing is..Theres way more to healthy weight loss than that. Not to mention fat loss vs weight loss.

To the OP...
Try giving up bread completely. Its amazing how much better you will feel. ^^

It is in fact the only rule you should stick to, without having to consider another other factors. If you are drinking 500ml of cooking oil a day, it'll still give you around 2000 calories, but you'll be starving and feel sick. You need to comply it with common sense.

You should calculate out your BMR, which is your basal metabolism rate. For an average adult, it's around 1800 calories. This means the amount of calories your body needs to function (in other words, if you stay in bed all day long without eating nor doing anything, you'll burn 1800 calories.) So if you are a lazy slob who does not exercise and still want to lose weight, just eat less than 1800 calories a day, no matter how junk/fat/sugary that food is.

But of course you will be really unhealthy and you'll probably have nothing but just fat on your body.

Giving up bread completely can also be followed by just simply give up on all carbonhydrates. It's a type of extreme diet called ketosis diet. It shares the similar concept to to the well known Atkin's diet, where the person stay clear from carbs but replace it with large amount of fat and protein. When your body is deprived of carbs, keton will be released, which burns off the remaining fat on your body. Google it, there are many articles regarding this.

I personally tried Ketosis diet for 4 weeks and saw amazing results. My body fat dropped dramatically within a week without carbs. However, during that time you will feel like s***, due to the ketons in your body. It is not recommended to stay on this diet for long, as lack of carb will affect your protein digestion. So for about 4 weeks I was happily feasting away on pork sasuage and bacon and see my weight drop. ;)

Bar the Guards, no fatties were found in the concentration camps at the end of WW2, thats your big clue. ;)

Seriously, does that slendertone abs belt really works? I fail to see how something viberates on your belly would give you six packs. (or on your arms, by claiming 10 minute session is like doing 200 push ups.)

You cant really say 'without other factors' though...there are tons of other factors and to ignore them is just silly.

Consuming nothing but cooking oil will result in your death. Not just feeling sick and hungry.

Unhealthy weight loss is hardly even worth it. Not only will they look awful when theyve lost all their muscle but retained most of their fat, but chances are they will just gain the weight back again in a short time...

No carb diets are ok...but the problem is when you go back to eating normally..Most people balloon.

but getting rid of bread is about more than just losing weight..I felt so healthy and clean when i gave up bread....im gonna do it again soon..

Sort out an exercise plan aswell, it will help you lose weight more than just dieting alone.

this.

a lot of the time, you could lose a ton of weight by sticking to the same food routine that you're currently on and just exercising more :)

-it's always a good idea to cut out snacks mind

This is true but you dont sit and much your way through 6 or 7 peices at a time where as its very easy to consume the juice of 6 or 7 bits of fruit

Smoothies are extremely healthy for other reasons but really 1 small 250ml a glass with breakfast is plenty for most people. Gives your body a health dose of nutrients to get you through the day.

So im starting a diet that a friend gave me, she got it from a nutrionist

so its probably not too useful then

just eat normal balanced diet and get some exercise - there is no need to try and over complicate what is basically common sense

FWIW nutritionist = unqualified spaz with a meaningless bit of paper

Why not mix it up a bit? This morning I had 2 fried eggs and 2 piece of bacon, followed by bran flakes then a small handfull of blueberries and a small handfull of frozen rasberries, blended up with a bit of water made 3/4 pint of sort of smoothie.

If someone has a degree in science & nutrition, what are they called? a dietician

They can be called whatever they want to be called so long as it isn't a protected title.

Dietitians need to be registered and have a recognised degree, most of the self styled "nutritionists" don't tend to have any relevant formal academic qualifications.
